uhhhh....i have heard of some calling for the nationalizing of....say....the health care industry.....
love socialized societies do you? (in my yoda voice)....there are plenty to chose from in this world...I will stick with capitalism...it has served me well.
Actually a strict socialist policy won't work and a strict capitalist one won't work either. We need to have a hybrid form of capitalism with some socialist underpinnings, something more like the U.K. or Canada. Those systems allow the individual to get very wealthy on their own merits but allow for the underprivileged to live with a certain standard of decency. They aren't perfect systems, but our country is too large to have a perfect economy.

This isn't the 1950s. "Socialist" has an actual meaning.
If he had been replying to someone who was calling for Fox News to be taken over and run by the government, I could understand calling him "socialist." But he was calling for the bombing of Fox News. That's not "socialist."

Tripod...you are not going to believe this....but I agree with you...I'm sure we would disagree on the level of the balance, however. And, that is ok (in my Stuart Smalley voice). UK and Canada are too much for me, but that is why I chose to live here.

Scaredlittleboy...things like that happen in court and depositions all the time....you could try to take the stand that many are taking here and look like a fool...or realize what they are...slips of the tongue that truly mean nothing..no reasonable person would think she would advocate killing anyone, let alone a presidential candidate....

And sometimes you just sound stupid. Seriously, look at the comments made by her and Liz Trotta. One comment is outright blatant, and the other has to be misinterpreted, spun out of control and regurgitated to fit your argument. Hillary's actions throughout the campaign, if you consider her issue with Francine Torgue on the same issue, pretty much answers your question as to whether or not she meant it. As for Trotta? She thinks as a politician she can just "laugh it off" and everything will be better.
And I can think of worse things than being on par with Hillary Clinton. I could be laughing alongside Trotta & Huckabee for their "jokes" like you are.

I know and understand all the variations of the use of the word socialist and I understand the difference between 'normal everyday Muslims', which by that you must mean the non-literal koran following moderate 'heretics', which we should wish they all were, for the sake of peace.
Do you know the difference between sunni, shia, sufism and amadiyya?

When the 8 federal prosecutors were fired and there was a media firestorm for months over it, MSNBC, NBC, CBS CNN and ABC led the way.
Fox news covered it, but they kept it in perspective of what the former president had done. Which the same cannot be said for the other networks, because when Bill Clinton fired ALL 93 federal prosecutors, you could've heard a pin drop.
Yes that's right, you didn't know that because they didn't want you to know that. I readily watch all the networks and listen to NPR as readily as I do Sean Hannity, thus I'm ten times as informed as those who throw the cross up at FOX and talk radio.

like I said....no reasonable person...how sad...perhaps when you get in the real world...you might have a professional job (i doubt it)....and you might misspeak at a lecture, in court, etc. and realize the err of you ways...in the meantime....make sure you leave the mayo off my hamburger mr. perfect.

Your personal healthcare experience may or may not be the bee's knees, but it's foolish to deny that the overall state of the "industry" in our nation is swirling around the bowl. Nationalization may or may not be the right answer...I'm no expert, but I can see what monetized capitalization of modern medicine has garnered us, and it isn't pretty. Throw in a heaping dose ($billions per annum) of Congressional lobbying and voila!...the average consumer not only isn't afforded the comfort of lube, he's also ball-gagged as well.
Naked capitalism is a Ponzi scheme, and sooner or later the people on the bottom will realize they're utterly fucked.
Civilized society does not function properly without the basic needs of all being met. Yes, to a certain degree, we are in fact our brothers' keeper. No man is an island. I could go on with the clichés...but if you haven't gotten the point by now, I'd be better server reading poems to a horse.

That's not an appropriate comparison.
For one thing, you didn't use the word "socialist" in a manner that even made sense given the definition of the word. You were using it purely as a pejorative--to display contempt while expressing their perceived socioeconomic position (which you disagree with).
Secondly, "fascist" and "evil" are pejoratives by their very definitions. "Socialist" is not.
If someone used the terms "capitalist" or "conservative" against you as pejoratives, especially while misusing the words, sure, I'd call them out too. :smile:
