For the more cultured artistic members of the LPSG, I just thought I'd announce that I'm going to see the Francis Bacon exhibition in the Tate Britain gallery next week, which should be fantastic and a greatly inspiring trip for me.

Anyone have any favourite pieces if his? Care to attach?
Maybe even been there already? Love to know!

I agree, he does what he does amazingly, and I really appreciate and love his work but I wouldn't choose to paint as he does. I'm more salvadore Dali or ... Renée Magritte?

René...not really either. Dali however is pretty good. I wouldn't choose to have a painting of his in my living room, but The Temptation of Saint Anthony is quite nice.

The only piece of art that really stuck with me was the Gate of Hell by Rodin. Genius.

Francis Bacon is one of my favs. Pope Innocent was my gateway to his stuff and still one of my favorites of his. It is very Bosch like...and I like Bosch. "Figure with Meat" is another in the same vein that I like too. But his self portraits are very interesting as well. I've seen his stuff in many museums but can't recall if I saw his stuff when I've been at the Tate.
