balls: Occasionally you see posts on here from people who have had surgery to increase the size of their penis. My question is for those of you who have had surgery or for those of you who have seen or handled a penis that has been surgically enhanced. Can you tell? Are there scars that give it away? Does it look odd? What does it feel like? How can a doctor increase girth, what do they use?
It seems like such an extreme way to get a big dick and if the results are freakish, why bother?

Men who resort to surgery to increase the size of their penis aren't put together very well, if you get my meaning.

rivertowncowboy: I met a guy once - prior to and after having surgical enhancement. He had some ligaments cut that helped him show soft about as big as he would get hard. The one odd thing - he would get hard but it would just flop down - kind of like the ligaments to hold it up were not there - imagine.

Jimbo: Balls:

Not that I know anyone personally who has had augmentation surgery or that I advocate the procedure, it seems that significant progress has been made with certain types of procedures now performed that minimize scarring and negative results such as the dangling erection noticed by rivertowncowboy.  Ligaments are being reattached further down the shaft of the penis and not just severed, in an attempt to preserve the original angle of erection.

If you are curious to learn more,  here is one doctor that uses an advanced procedure including a special surgical laser and optical microscope:  http://www.drgiunta.com/  The site has actual "before and after" pictures of both lengthening and girth enhancements.  You be the judge (but to be "fair", the "after" pictures were apparently shot right after the surgery also showing the "post op" swelling trauma and scarring most of which probably goes away in less than a month with normal healing like occurs with most other plastic surgeries)

Apparently a lot of the bad reputation this type of surgery still has now is due to the earlier generations of surgeries that were performed by doctors who were still perfecting their techniques.

Dag: Their is something about plastic surgery that doesn't seem right. yet, i do believe that if you want to improve a part of your body, it is absolutely your rignt to do so.

as of now, i have not seem plastic surgery on the penis look good. the fotos on  http://www.drgiunta.com/  did not look good what-so-ever! Frank'in Pee Pee for sure!!!

i have done some research on penis plastic surgery (the PPS :D )
mostly through surgical & non-surgical foreskin restotation. my findings where (the short version) that surgical foreskin restotation didn't look natural/normal. non-surgical foreskin restotation (the one that i tried) was a lot more effective and looked very natural.

cheers - dag

bklynbigballs: Okay, I am not saying this because i'm all, "Oh I just love my body and I am satisfied with every inch of MEEEEE!" I would totally love to have a larger penis. I wish I didn't feel the need to improve what God gave me...but I do.

HOWEVER

The thought of someone operating on my penis fills me with terror. I could never ever ever in a million years let someone put me under and cut ligaments in my penis. I don't even think those before and after pics look that bad. I just can't even think about doing something like that without feeling the need to cross my legs. Meanwhile if I had to, say, have my appendix out or a nose job, I still wouldn't be half as skeeved out as I am at the though of having my penis enlarged. Ew!

Am I the only one who feels this way?

Perhaps in a few years, when enlargement surgery is indeed more perfected, tried, and accepted (with really impressive, non-mutilating results and no disappointing failures and complications thereafter)--
THEN it won't seem so daunting and leave us "skeeved out". ;)

With advances in modern medicine rapidly moving forward--particulary in cosmetic surgery (which enlargement represents), I believe it's only a matter of time.

Already, the media is becoming filled with stories and accounts mentioning the issue of men's anguish over penis size. It's a topic coming to the forefront more and more, virtually everyday. "Enlargement" hasn't replaced the topic of Viagra in notoriety in men's health....yet

Let's give it say, about five, maybe ten years or so.

--If that much.

Some might even be willing to bet sooner.

rainfletcher: The types of surgery that seem to be referenced here, where the ligaments are cut and / or reattached, only enhance the flacid size. I've always wondered at this. It seems fake, to me. I guess 'looking' like you have a big penis (even if you don't) is better than not looking like it, but I don't understand putting yourself through all of that just for the sake of appearance. Wouldn't any potential partners be in for a rude surprise at some point?

It reminds me of my girlfriends son. He is always wearing the largest 'diamonds' he can find in his ears and around his neck. Appearances matter, but without the substance, it's all very hollow...

Rainfletcher:

Apparently...the matter of having a larger penis is so important to some men, that they will go to any length
;D  (or maybe      would be better, here)

...and, THEN these men must face the consequences!

--whatever they might happen to be!

You're correct that the current surgical approaches leave much to be desired  overall.  Improved flaccid size seems easy.  It's the "drooping" difficult to-manage characteristic during erection (not to mention the scarring!) that makes this method of PE so less than ideal, currently.

Another poster has already noted different techniques in respecting the function of the supporting ligaments is being more perfected.  The surgery techniques for PE are coming along. So, again--

It's only a matter of time (as I noted earlier) before this procedure will become more respected and trusted.
