I had the great pleasure to take a class on the "Flying Lindy" from him. As a member of the original "Whitey's Lindy Hoppers" he will forever be immortalized on film in a short featuring the dancers swinging to Duke Ellington's "Cottontail" We will miss you. THank you for sharing your gift to the world. We will miss you...

My god, that man had a shuffle.
I notice he danced in Spike Lee's Malcolm X.
That would put him at about 76, I guess, when the movie was made. Must rent it again.
That NY Daily News article mentions that a documentary about him, Julie Cohen's Frankie Manning: Still Swinging, will premiere on "Ch. 13" on May 21st.
I wonder what network that would be.
I'd love to watch it.
