- FRE,
I freeball alllllll the time now. However, I keep some ultralight boxers shorts for specific occasions, and trying on clothes is the main one. In addition to not wanting other dude's nasty funk coming into contact with my pride and joy, unwashed new clothes often have residual industrial dyes, chemicals and solvents remaining in the fabric. If I'm shopping for pants, I wear my boxers. My dick will look exactly the same in them as they would if I was freeballing any way, but without exposing myself to all of that.
When I buy new shorts, I don't even try them on anymore. I buy my size, wash them, then freeball in them like I would with any other of my shorts. I've yet to return a pair because I know my size and what I like.
Sorry my dudes, freeballing while trying on new clothes is just gross, inconsiderate and not smart at all.
Your response indicates that you are a responsible person and considerate of others. I am reminded of a sign a saw in a fitting room a number of years (or decades) ago.
I entered the fitting room to try on a pair of dress trousers / pants / slacks. In the fitting room was a sign stating that heath regulations required wearing undershorts when trying on anything, including swim suits. Actually, it would seem obvious that people would do that without signs and laws requiring it, but very apparently some people have to be thus instructed.
Infectious agents are spread more easily than might be expected. I used to catch a cold once or twice per year but now I've gone several years without catching a cold. I attribute that do making some minor changes in hygiene. For example, at the gym, if I have to blow my nose, I go into the convenience and wash my hands before and after blowing. If I have to scratch my face, I do it with a knuckle or back of my wrist since that is less likely to have picked up an infectious agent by touching something. If I will have to shake hands with many people, before leaving home I wash my hands with Betadine but instead of rinsing the disinfectant off of my hands, I let it air dry on my hands. All this may seem unnecessary and fussy, but it seems to work. Catching a cold is seldom serious but it is a nuisance and unpleasant so, at least for me, it makes sense to avoid it to the extent possible.
I don't know what infectious agents could be spread by trying on clothes that other people have tried on, but surely it is sensible to avoid picking up infectious agents or causing others to pick up infectious agents.
