...in now way implies the right to go unanswered. People who disagree with you also have freedom of speech, and if you don't want to know, don't put yourself in a position where you'll get the answer that you don't want to hear. I swear, some people are so balls-out stupid they think they can blurt out whatever pops into their heads and expect it to be received as gospel. Talk shit and shit is what you get back.

Y'all think about it. Or don't. I'm not asking you to live your life like I live mine, because, as the great man said, "I'm the one who's gotta die when it's time for me to die."

Was this in response to some call for folks to NOT speak their mind?

I have to agree with you... and add that freedom of speech DOES imply that you can COUNT on being offended. Someone somewhere is bound to say something you find disagreeable.

Freedom of speech is not freedom of expletive, even though the words sound remarkably alike.

TBH, I haven't got a clue what this thread is about. I just felt like playing with words.

Does that mean that if I fart in a crowded elevator I can't step off and leave the other passengers to endure the smell?

Isn't it amazing how fast this thread descended to "cutting the cheese"?

By your own definitions and parameters, it is clear to me that no one's speech needs more protection than your own; keep on truckin'.

If we agree on everything one of us is unnecessary.

Really? How does that work? I believe that's one of the nastiest sentiments I've ever heard expressed anywhere. Nobody is redundant. The word doesn't apply to human beings.
