Organizers of the Pentagon's 9/11 memorial Freedom Walk on Sunday are taking extraordinary measures to control participation in the march and concert, with the route fenced off and lined with police and the event closed to anyone who does not register online by 4:30 p.m. today.

Officers are prepared to arrest anyone who joins the march or concert without a credential and refuses to leave, said Park Police Chief Dwight E. Pettiford.

The event, the America Supports You Freedom Walk, is billed as a memorial to victims of the 2001 terrorist attacks and a show of support for those serving in the military.

One restricted group will be the media, whose members will not be allowed to walk along the march route.

Bush has made a career of mocking "freedom" even though he uses the word more than any president I've ever heard. I guess only the people who think EXACTLY LIKE HIM deserve to be "free".

The pig showed him how to corkscrew tail.
The mule was stubborn but sat on him.

Now back to the subject at hand, where but in America can you have political rallies, marches, forums and the like that may only ba attended by those you pre-select? Is that not if fact a mockery of freedom? We&#39;re not talking about isolating felons, just anyone who doesn&#39;t agree.

I&#39;m not quite sure about being as bad as Hitler but I get your point.

You might be missing one factor though, as sick as it sounds to normal people like you or I (relatively normal that is) there are people out there who would have seen that freedom march as the ideal time to set off a bomb. The fear and distruction caused by 2 or 3 suicide bombers blowing themselves up in the middle of the march would have been awful

Maybe this wasn&#39;t the reason for the high level of security and maybe your govenment are overbearing control freaks but I can see the potential for some method to their madness

Shelby, I do understand your point, and it is wrong from either "side" but some microscopic group that no one cares about singling out a student doesn&#39;t carry the same weight and magnitude of a nationally organised promotion that excludes anyone who doesn&#39;t adhere to it&#39;s doctrines, as our President has done so many times. He is NOT "for the people", just "for HIS people" which is absurd and wrong for a leader. This reeks of Hitler-esque propagana.

No doubt you can find low level Democrat crackpots all over the place using the same tactics, but it&#39;s the position to actually have impact that I take exception to with bush. In his position, he is able to manipulate appearances to reflect a false reality that simply does not exist. Sadly, too many Americans are too stupid to see through the facade, which is our mistake. I just get sick of having to live in a place where people are being deceived and too stupid to realise it.
