I tend to think that people who invent concepts and terms that correspond to them are allowed to define their original terms. If that were not so, we could project all sorts of concepts onto the past based off of some similarities. I could say that the Apostles were Communists. Or I could say that Plato was a feminist. No, that approach to terms is absurd.

OK, so the party performed below expectations of the year or so leading up to the election. That would appear to be true. Still, referring to a gain in seats and bumping up in position as "losing badly" seems pretty skewed to me.

He has been succesful but the referendum vote is meaningless imo. I don't to Turkey as a democracy, I think to most of 'democracies' like seriously flawed Ones. You Just have ti read mai stream media ti figure that out IMO.

Yes Marinera - the theory of relativity - you are correct based on where you are sitting - but I will say that the Bernie Sanders movement demonstrated that there is a groundswell from mostly younger voters in the US around social democracy principles. The issue with social democracy is that you cannot dip your toe in it, and you are right that the US is still too conservative to do more than that.
