Friend requests?

I'm wondering if the member with the most friends wins a prize or anything like that? Why do people send friend requests to people they didn't even talk to before?
In the beginning I accepted the requests but lately I reject them as long as I don't know the person or he/she didn't introduce him/herself. I don't need "friends" I don't even know a thing about.

Anyone with me?

I'm with the OP. If I havent exchanged a word with them in chat or posts why would I want to be their "friend"?
Course if you go and ask them why they're asking to be your friend it just looks arsey so I just delete random friend requests.

With all my snotty little searches it's no wonder I have so few friends.

At first I accepted them, then I stopped, then I said freak it and just started accepting them all again. If someone has become a "true" friend I normally pm with them. I have only friend requested one person at this point. If it was left up to me I would only friend request those I truely have gotten to know or like on the board. Several people have requested me that I would have requested but they got to me first!
