This is an odd one, but does anybody get turned OFF if a cruiser is friendly to them? If they smile too much, or ask for a name and a say a hello afterwards etc. It probably appeals to some and I understand that but it's an instant boner killer for me. I think it's because I associate cruisey sexual behaviour with furtive, anonymous, secret behaviour - and a smile breaks that illusion.

Opposite - Smiles can be great and life-affirming.

Part of the uniqueness of cruising is the intimacy and community that happens in the in-between spaces between strangers this way. It doesn't always happen that way, but when it's a sign of a deep non-verbal energy exchange between strangers, it can really be the icing on the cake and can leave you with an NSA glow that lasts all day that you literally can't get any other way.

The interaction is so stripped down, that every movement, few words spoken, or expression is amplified in it's singularity. It can be very powerful, but should be rare.

It depends on the spark too.

I guess there are those who feel differently to the exclusion of smiles and words, but different strokes for different folks.
