Ron Paul.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
While I agree with much of his liberarian rhetoric, I just can't get past those newsletters. You know the ones. The ones where he voices his anti-black, anti-jew, anti-gay opinions? The ones where he said that the 1992 Los Angeles riots ended "because it was time for the blacks to pick up their welfare checks"?

He backpedals now, and claims that those were "ghost-written products he did not edit."

Uh huh. Right.

I can think of a few people on this site that would do exactly that but, they aren't in their right mind  and its not me, Im a bleeding heart Liberal.
To me this isn't a issue about being liberal or conservative ( I'm liberal by the way ) , is a issue on how he do the job as the president. From my point of view he do a terrible job , one of the worst presidents ever !!!!!

If the rating is solely for Bush, I can't really slam the man save for his own personal politics. Now if you factor in his cabinet and advisors? I'd say he could do a better job. Mainly due to the intelligence gaff that got us into this war in Iraq.

Just remember, a president is only as good as his cabinet and he does not hand pick them by himself.

I agree, I was answering your question, Who in their right mind would vote for him?, I think he's done a bad job and he's lied to the American people because of bad intelligence. He's the big boss so, He should be blamed for the bad intelligence.

Thank goodness that I didn't vote for that option....I don't need the secret service around my house.

I thought of the same thing when I saw that option!

I voted "Blows harder than Katrina"...

Truly sad.

A government should be afraid of its citizens, not the other way around.

i agree.. i also dont believe in a lot of what he says... but im sure if you dig around on anyone you would find something... i bet obama has even racially spoke about whites or mexicans or something... little issues like that are important morally but it isnt going to affect what he does in office... we need a libertarian..!! we need to curb inflation and end big socialized gov't... national health care would be the end of america if we dont revamp the healthcare system first and if we dont cut spending..

last year canada spent 170 billion on national health for there 30 million people... the US has 10 times more people and our health car cost almost 3 times more!! there is no way we can afford 2-4 trillion dollars..!!

you have to look beyond what the candidates are promising and really try to see if what they say is possible and if they can really do it..!!

The sad thing is things will be worse when the dems get in power.

Well, the last time those dems were president it was 1999/2000. Our country didn't have a deficit, economic growth was felt in all social groups (and not just the elite 1%), the unemployment rate was down and the United States was actually respected around the world by most people.

If that's being worse off than we are now, then I really don't know what else to say.

Get over it. GW Bush has .. for 99.9% of the "angry posters" here done very very very little to actually have an affect on your life. Employment is fine, crime is decent, country hasn't been attacked... you still have Roe v Wade, pot is becoming more and more legal... please. I'm not really sure how he has affected the average American... save the "selfish retort" on that. Save the privacy rightss... the gov't is to inept and busy to listen in on your late night booty calls, and deals to grab an 1/8 for the weekend. Get over it.

The political spectrum is about this wide

Please tell me you are not that naive. Those "little issues" have a much more profound impact than the "bigger" political issues, when it comes to the president.

This is what really scares me about the lack of political savvy in the general population. The president has almost no authority when it comes to legislation, social programs, and the general administration of day-to-day government function - basically all he can do is give a "seal of approval" by signing a bill, or withhold his official approval by veto or by not signing (even at that, his veto can be overridden.)

Where the president has real power is in his appointments. Supreme court, US attorneys, cabinet, agency chiefs, inspectors general, on down the line. And in every one of his appointments, a president is going to reflect his own moral bias.

I don't know about you, but I certainly don't want those kinds of appointments being made by someone who doesn't like queers, negroes, or jews. We have seen, first-hand, what happens when they are being made by an ignorant, spoiled fundy.
