If you click on the Et Cetera words above you will be taken to the main board of the Et Cetera forum. At that point go to the words "Thread Starter" and put together your new topic.
Thanks for your help Northland. Been trying to find out how for a long time.

Without that out of the way, my opinion on Bush? Don't like the man for a multitude of reasons. However, there is one thing I have to respect Bush for. You have to set aside what he has done is right or wrong though, he goes for what he wants. Yes, he is misguided but he gets what he wants. He has a huge amount of determination to achieve what he thinks is right. Again, I don't like the man at all but to admire than one small quality.

NAY.

Hitler could be respected for this reason.

George Bush? Not so much.

The largest is Exxon, a US corporation. Also Chevron is US. The US is the largest market. The US military props up pro oil corporation regimes that are anti democratic like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Nigeria, Burma, etc.

Now thats interesting.

Of course. About them gas prices: what if Bush never had been elected and no one invaded Iraq and no one spent several years trying to strong arm and stranglehold world opinion?

Had Bush not been elected Clintons amendments to MFN with China would have still gone into affect. Which equalled more weatlth for the Chinese and lead to more fuel consumption.
Had Bush not been elected India's economy would continued to grow equalling more wealth for her citizens.

Face it. 5yrs ago China and India were either walking or riding bikes. Now they are all driving.

I know Bush is blamed for everything from 9/11 to jock itch but he or the U.S. has not control of the above.

hey go fuck yourself asshole, our economy is in shambles, our money isnt worth shit, our government is corrupt, and you for damn sure dont even know how to answer your own question. have you ever travelled outside of our country? or even outside of your trailor park? if so, you would know that the entire fucking world hates our government and wants to (and will) put us in check. since you seem to have so much knowledge about our country, why dont you go ahead and share with us your brilliant solution for solving all of our problems? what exactly, without googling it, is our foreign policy? what do we stand for? democracy certainly isnt it because anyone with 1/2 a brain could tell you that democracy in the middle east not only will never happen, it is the worst possible solution for such a poor, uneducated, and unstable region of the world. so please, share with us your brilliant fucking thoughts, including ones that solce the problem of ridding my country of close minded twats like yourself. instead of quoting everyone and making half witted insults that make you look like an uneducated hillbilly, try being civilized and express your views in a noncombative, constructive way.... next time you post in my thread, have something real and original to say. learn to pick your fights douchebag.

"Hey go fuck yourself asshole!" That's your "BEST" opener. "Phew!" Then you my small minded friend are far more pitiful than I thought. I see from your choice of words that you are far more close to the trailer park than I.

As a matter of fact I am well travelled, and have been many miles from my trailer park you talk so loudly about. Let's see: Iraq, Dubai, Australia, S. Africa, China, Japan, Phillippines, Hong Kong, France, England, and not just for pleasure.

If our economy is in such a shambles, it is probably because you own far too many foreign made products that so losely surround your enviroment. Rather than buy American made products. You chose to buy the poorer crappier ones. I bet "nothing" in your house (sorry trailer) is US made. Except the "shit" that comes out of your pie hole.

I don't think I ever said I have a solution to your "so" called problems, whatever they may be, that you say that they are. If you are so intillectually talented, and very verbal about the state of the union, please go ahead and verbalize your rhetoric for me to chew on, as I would like to hear your opinion on what it is exactly, your own idea of US foreign policy. I know as much about the US goverment as the next idiot, and that is, "what goverment". Is this, what we call a US goverment.

Insults come from narrow minded people such as "you" so who is the "twat" Who thinks by telling me that my "views" should be expressive and non combative.

"WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE - TO TELL ME HOW I SHOULD EXPRESS MY OPINION?" THE LAST TIME I CHECKED THIS WAS MY COUNTRY TOO, AND I WILL STAND UP AND DEFEND IT TO THE VERY END AND WILL DIE FOR THE RIGHT FOR PEOPLE LIKE YOURSELF TO "EXPRESS" YOURSELF IN ANY FORUM OR THEIR CHOICE WITHOUT ANY FEAR OF HAVING THER FREEDOMS TAKEN FROM THEM. SO IF YOU CHOSE TO PICK UP A WEAPON AND JOIN ME WHEN THE ENEMIES COMES, PLEASE DO, OR JUST COWER BEHIND ME, WHILE I PROTECT YOUR PATHETIC ASS.

That's why I chose to serve in the military and Protect the constitution of the united states, against ALL enimies, foreign and DOMESTIC. Including you. I will die for all that is american, what would you do for america?

Try to capitalise on it, and then complain when they take away your freedoms. Off withe your head.

where to start, where to start. first off JeffL, i want to put it out there that i will not trash you for serving in the military. it is a very respectable and courageous choice for you to make. as for your "i dont support america" rant...lets see, i drive a Chevy, i have 2 Mac computers, i have 3 American made guitars, my furniture, all made locally, in my city, which is in America, and thanks to new conceal and carry laws, i can now carry my Smith and Wesson SW1911 whenever i so choose, and choose to often. do not think that for one second that i would not join you in arms in a time of need. however, i see no justification on invading countries who pose no legitmet threat to the safety of our country and its citizens. if our great country were to be invaded, or there actually was a legitmet threat from the international community, you better believe that i would be right there with you, with my Mossburg in one hand and my SW in the other. we probably have more in common than we both think, and i apologize for the name calling. however, i think you need to go back and read your comments. you and i have both made the mistake of insulting people in this thread based on our differing opinions. you have had nothing constructive to say, nor have you expressed anything except for half witted criticisims of other peoples comments.

to address your foreign policy question. in short, our foriegn policy is to create a safe, peaceful and democratic international community for the betterment of the American people and the rest of the world. i have no problem with this policy whatsoever. however, the Bush administration has strayed far from this policy. for anyone to think that peace in the middle east will ever happen is foolish for many different reasons. i, like youself, have never claimed to know the answers to any of our problems, including the rising unemployment rate, inflation, immigration, our unjust tax system, increasingly expenisive medical services, housing, national debt, and SS, just to name a few. if i did, i would probably run for president some day, since after, along with protecting our freedom, it is also the presidents job to make sure that these aspects of our country perform as well as possible.

as for capitalizing on this great country of ours and the resources available, i would say its probably a pretty safe bet that i am doing a better job at it than you my friend. at the end of this semester, i will be graduating with an MBA in finance from one of the most prestigious business schools in our country. shortly after graduation, i will be moving to NYC to start my new job that i just obtained, working as an investment analyst for a 5 BILLION dollar hedge fund that will remain nameless on this site. i would say that is the best way possible to capitalize off of our country's resources, wouldnt you? whats better and more American than making money with money? nothing. so the next time you look to invest some of your hard earned idle cash into the market through a broker, just think, it could be me you are giving your money to you.

I find it quite funny that many Americans can't even grasp the general concept of their own politics when others can so easily.

me too, but keep in mind politics in America is very "hush hush" once the candidate is elected. our current administration had informed the public very little about what is actually going on. the only thing we can do is speculate for ourselves based on our own findings.

The Democratic-led Congress' is even lower.... FWIW.
Democrats need and will get a bigger majority in November. I just hope that many incumbents in both parties get kicked to the curb. I think we a fixing to witness a huge swing back to the liberal left this next election. Then the Democrats will clean house. We have to turn around the Supreme Court too. These yahoos don't have a clue.

How do you figure? Im very well informed. I think the problem is that most of us are to lazy to read, if its not on CNN headline news we dont need to know about it. Example: the current admin is critized over their rejection of the Kyoto Treaty. How many of us of actually researched it, read it and formed an opinion. Rather we just align ourselves with whatever group best represents our "special interest". The goverment does not "hide" information from us, its all there. Get informed. Another example is further up the thread Bush is being blamed for folks losing their homes. To understand this totally we need to realized that the Federal Reserve operates totally independant of the goverment.
Sadly we are just a bunch of over weight, uninformed couch potatos who want more and more from the goverment.

u hit it right on the head phe. my point exactly was that the majority of americans base their opinions solely off of what they hear on CNN or Fox without further researching both sides of the issues for themselves. i feel i cant trust anything the administration says because of the lies they have put forth thus far and failed to admit to. our government is corrupt, the rest of the world knows it, and i dont know why Americans refuse to accept it. im yet to hear a straight forward answer from any republican in office. i agree, Bush shouldnt be blamed for the housing slump. its not his fault people bought homes they couldnt afford on adjustable mortgages, and he shouldnt have to bail them out. but i think when it hits a certain point, when the banks really begin to suffer, he should look at the issue and come up with possible solutions, rather than just letting it all play out with the course of time. after all, his take from the poor and give to the rich tax system probably has a huge effect on people not being able to pay their mortgages...
