    This should ultimately prove that the French are pigs ;-) or bugs?

    However, take a look at this, and then recognize that you don't have to be a stallion to have great sex :biggrin1:.

    207 - Les Coccinelles

    Take a special look at the South Asian (?) guy's face, towards the end of the clip.

    You're about as likely to see this spot on US television as you're likely to see a Peugeot on a US road. The only ones I've ever seen were in Europe.

    :eek::"Mommy, what are those bugs doing there?"
    :rolleyes:: "Uh..."

    Personally, I like it the best when they fuck doggy style on the gearstick.

    I've seen a few dozen on US roads. Well, Massachusetts (which isn't even a state). I even know someone here who had one, a health inspector who put over 70k miles on it per anum - naturally, it didn't last long at that rate.

    Very few lately, though. Peugeot sold far less than 5000 cars here in '90, and bowed out of the US market entirely the next year. At that time the company figured there were some 60 thousand still running in the country - not a very strong presence, but not totally invisible either.

    Ah, well, that I haven't seen in Massachusetts. Or in California - so I suppose that was a wasted trip.

    I have seen 5 so far: One around Indianapolis, 2 near Chicago, 1 in Seattle and 1 near Daytona. The one in Seattle is Frank's, about 24 years old, 200K miles total, and purring like a lion, so to say. A newer one we had during our Europe trip, also a good ride. But I guess outside Louisiana, French companies don't have a good standing at large on US markets, even though one of Boeing's largest contract suppliers is a French manufacturer of oxygen supply systems.

    However, you'll still not see a spot like this, at least not during prime time TV. Maybe after midnight.

    This fucking kills me! I see 5, neatly spread through nearly 20 years, which makes a humble average of 0.0007 per day. Other seem to run into them on a daily base almost.

    I just feel like resurrecting this thread. I mean, just had the thought again.

    By the way, does anyone recognize how very phallic the french word for ladybugs is? I mean, Coccinelles. Really.

    Nice. Reminds me of the time my mom spanked me as a kid for talking about the coccyx. She had no idea that bone existed.

    My dad owned a Peugeot 404 when I was a kid back in New Jersey. I almost bought one in about 1989, because Peugeot had slashed prices, in preparation to exit the US market. You could get a very nice car quite cheap. But, I bought a Saab 900 instead. Although I didn't buy the car, I've noticed on my business trips to NJ that the Peugeot dealer is still on Rt 17 North in Ramsey NJ.

    Nelson Chevrolet does now mean something to me, my significant owns a 505 and orders spare parts and regular check-ups there. However, he's also the first Peugeot that I have come close to physically, aside from TV appearances (think of Inspector Columbo's 403 convertible) I have never seen one here. Interesting.

    Around 1990, New York City was just crawling with 505s, because they were being used on a trial basis by the city's taxi fleet.
