Does the Oscars really need more bad script writing, fuck the union (and all unions, it's called free market economy vs Marxism and the USSR)... and how they've digressed into each nominee for handout award/nominations for over-the-hill Elton John performances on soundtracks...

Give us brass tacks... gives us more of the nominee why's/what's.... shorten the damn thing by an hour... let a few ppl ramble on longer.... fuck the tribute to the 80% of the dead ppl that 80% of the viewing audience has zero clue about... and give the damn awards out.... cut the fanfare, and create the competition once again. Give us gowns/red carpet, f'd up speeches, and upsets.

I think the problem is not so much with the need for (bad) scripts. Some actors, actresses and other motion picture business players are squeamish about being seen crossing the picket line, with the kind of bad PR that could generate for some of their union-friendly fans.
