Seems like such a free spirited guy who is so concerned with independent thinking... could have figured out that somebody owns this web site, and they do whatever the hell they want to do with it. If you don't like it then start your own.

Besides, when you say that people's words shouldn't be edited because it is the internet, have you thought about what would happen if people were NOT edited somewhat? What if made a post which listed your full name, social security number, and credit card information? Would you still be waving the anti-censorship flag then?

There have to be rules because there are too many awful people in the world who wouldn't act properly if they weren't given limits.

And, besides that, I'd like to say again that you should just go build your own forum if you want. Don't use somebody else's stuff and then complain that it isn't good enough. This site makes a TON of money and a lot of people enjoy it.

All of those points are right, and I do have my own forum. Only two members of this board have been invited to it.

I am not sure the thing makes a ton of money, though. I can't verify it, but I don't believe that it does.

I looked at this thread yesterday and an hour later I came back to post on it and it and got the database error screen. I looked in the forums, and in areas where things are taken off the board pending discussion and it was nowhere to be found. Recently profiles, social group and other threads have met the same unexplainable fate. We don't know what happened to them.
