The six cards originally presented to you are:

KH, JC, KS, QS, QC, JD.

The five cards that are "left" -- and your card isn't one of them! -- are:

QH, KC, JH, QS, KD.

Well, none of the original six are included in the five cards "left".

That was really good. It took me a minute but once it hit me I tried it again. None of the last 5 cards in the second round are the same as the original. It works because you concentrate on the card you pick and don't really pay attention to the others,lol. Good trick though, thanks.

Let's try it with a more obvious example:


Pick one of the following six animals:

cat, dog, horse, fish, mouse, pig

Concentrate on your animal or else the maaaaaagic won't work.

Now, I'm going to eliminate your animal and show you the five animals that are left. Ready?

The five animals that are left are:

elephant, ferret, mosquito, okapi, yak
See? I've maaaaaagically eliminated the animal you were concentrating on from the list.

(Never mind that the second list is completely different from the first!)
