Are there any active members who identify as furry (i'm talking about the subculture, not body hair... although that can be very nice) or are interested in anthro art/stories?
I've been in the fandom for about four or five years, and in fact did my senior thesis in college on the community. I enjoy drawing and looking at other people's drawings, both sexual and otherwise... I'd say less than half of what i do is sexual. I'm always interested in art trades and comissions (very cheap), note me for links. I've yet to make it to a con, and am really hoping to be able to do so soon. I tend to change my mind about what animal best represents me once every few months, partly because I know waaaay too much about unusual animals for someone who didn't major in zoology.
Just to get it out of the way, I'm gonna completely ignore anyone outside the community who chimes in with a stupid comment about the costumes. Several studies have shown that less than a quarter of the community is interested in it; even less than people in the anime and science fiction fandoms. I'm personally fine with fursuiting, but am wholly uninterested in it.
Anyone who equates it with bestiality will be appropriately treated as a troll
