No flack from me dude. A couple years ago I watched them hose off what was left of a taco bender. He flew out the back the got run over a few times.
Excuse me? A taco bender? Is that your incredibly ignorant way of saying a person of Mexican descent was thrown from the bed of a pick-up truck and run over?!? :headache:

Interesting how some people seem to feel that their rights are being infringed by seat belt laws, but are perfectly fine with other legislation that amounts to a far more meaningful infringement on personal freedoms.
I agree it's a good idea to wear seatbelts (and I do, it actually feels "wrong" to be in an automobile without it) but I disagree with the states' authority to mandate it (except for children).

However, rob, you would likely be amused to see my long laundry list of things the government does that I think infringe on my rights, and/or that the government has no authority to regulate.

I'm curious about the distinction, that it's alright for Government to mandate laws for children, who after all are the responsibility of their parents (in terms of safety), but not adults who cause very in which these children are involved and may thus leave said children orphaned.

I can think of a few possibilities but I thought I'd ask. I'm not being (intentionally) awkward, I'm curious.

For the record I disagree with you, I think the proven benefits of mandatory belt wearing outweigh the perceived rights infringements. I also always wore a belt from day one - long before it became law.
