Envy of the tax breaks for the straight couples? I don't know about the majority's opinions on that, but I do know that a lot of gay guys are loaded these days and could care less on the tax breaks. San Francisco has been making money out of the gay weddings and pride parade.

and those are the ones that are probably trying to get with every man they can and that is why San Francisco has a rather bad taint for being a city. and I personally would not be straight..I dated women when I was in my teens and it was what it was back then till I knew who I really knew who I was.

I envy straight men their ability to be demonstrative with their partners in public around the world and their ability to procreate without the adoption process; however, both of those things require being in a relationship with a woman and I do not envy them that. Women are nice and all, but they don't do it for me :)

And no, I don't want to be straight.

Btw thnks for pointing out that us men are only driven by a crazy sex drive like freud said. Lol totally makes us look better as a gender.

You're welcome, Mr. Str8s and Gays should envy us bisexuals.

Haha if anything though str8s and gays should envy us bisexuals. Lol we get all the actions from girls, guys, and even both at the same time. Haha sexuality doesn't even matter for us either lol, we can get a str8 guy to tag team bang a str8/bi chick. Haha we rock. Lol we live the gay dream of sex with a str8 dude =D.

Really, what's to envy? It's all about preference and what is acceptable to someone. I am a gay male, get a few drinks in me, and I can be a bisexual male. I have had, and depending on whether or not I pursue a current relation, I will continue to have threesomes with women. Just depends on the people, what you like, and what doesn't turn you off. I'm a freak, so I'm a totally cool.

No I'm happy with who I am and the journey it has taken to get here. It has not always been simple or easy but nothing is. There is always a trade off with the decisions we make in life but the rewards have been well worth it to me. For whatever it's worth in my opinion my life is not really any different than those of some of my straight friends except I sleep with a man and don't have children. Other than that we play tennis at the same club, go to the same restaurants together and take ski trips to the same places together. Our "lifestyle" has never been part of any discussion other than the fact that we have a few more dollars in our back pocket because we don't have kids in private schools.

Please keep your ignorant speculations about San Francisco to yourself. At least we don't have the "taint" of living in the Old Confederacy.

and those are the ones that are probably trying to get with every man they can and that is why San Francisco has a rather bad taint for being a city.

Of course, it's unproductive to wish yourself
something that is impossible to teach. I still
have a lot of envy for straight guys.
Life would be do much simpler.

Agree or disagree, like to hear your
point of view

Why do you envy straight guys & why do you think life would be much simpler?

How can you envy something you can never be?

It's like saying- do you envy not being a rabbit.

I think life would be a hell of a lot easier and simpler if I were straight as practically every single societal institution is built around hetrosexuality but alas I was dealt another set of cards. So it doesn't concern me anymore.

I think the "taint" you're talking about is a good thing. SF is a fucking liberated place.

You are born the way you are and you accept it and live the life or you pretend you are straight, get married, have children, lead a miserable existance and finally divorce and thereby mess up everybodys life who was your family.

Agree.

But only if I am the kind of straight guy who women go crazy for :)

Yeah life would be simpler most people seem to assume I am straight until I tell them.

I envy people who engage in simplistic magical thinking, who put themselves and everyone else in neat little categories according to their geographical location, perceived or self-imposed sexual orientation, etc., etc. . . .

No, not really.

Nope, not for a second. I'm tired of listening to 50 y.o. married or divorced guys telling me that they don't understand women. I'm tired of seeing men who obviously don't even like or respect women as persons being married to one. I'm tired of almost every straight man I've ever known, when the topic comes up, telling me that he's never had a great blowjob from any woman.

As for the poster who said that being gay is "interesting," I thought that most of my life, too, but now I don't think being gay is "interesting" (mind you, I wouldn't call it "boring" either, perhaps "nothing unusual" is more accurate).

I used to but after watching several of my str8 friends and family members go through nasty divorces that left them completely broke I can't say I envy them. For the life of me I can't understand why gays want to get married either.
