I don't see what you guys see. I've never encountered "encouraged misogyny" amongst gay men, and that sounds like a delusion that a homophobic person would have. I know that I've encountered homophobia and the hatred of gay men from people who claim to be LGBTs.... and the reason why the assertion
@Hungus is making is so infuriating to me is that he's repeating what I heard from the bigoted fundamentalist Christians I grew up around -- I heard, "Men who say they're gay are just men who hate women", ALL the time, but I heard it from traditionalists, not progressives. Now he's using the same hate speech that I grew up around but saying it in a more-progressive-than-thou way, and it reaffirms my suspicion of just how covertly evil these ideologies surrounding a lot of contemporary trans activism really is. It's reversing a lot of the headway we've made in gay rights in the past couple of decades.
people who want to say your preferences and aversions don't matter and that everything is fluid are attacking your authenticity, in my opinion. Not to mention just creating a flimsy, vague, relativist reality where nothing really means anything. It's everything I stand against, and I can't remain silent about it. Does anybody see where I'm coming from, or am I just being dramatic and nuts?
