Just curious, over the years of buying and watching copious amounts of gay porn, have found out which studios will always get me off and I can always count on for a good vid. I have also found out which studios always dissapoint. What are your favs? dissapointments?

Favs

Cazzo - The guys are always rough and ready, its a bit sleazy and dirty. The cocks are almost always uncut and juicy and the camera work is the best, always cutting between extreme close-ups of cock sucking and ass pounding, wide shots and close ups of facial expressions. Funnily the guys aren't always the most attractive but the hot fucking always makes up for it.

Hot House - Hot buff guys who fuck and suck with abandon, great camera work as well. Only gripe is I wish they had more hairy guys.

Titan - Titan employ my ideal men; hot, masculine, hairy and rugged. I find them a bit hit and miss. The early stuff is great but lately I find them a bit indulgent, spending too much time on setting up the scenes before getting to the action.

Dissapointments

Raging Stallion - This one always mystifies me! The men are ssssooo hot, they are a huge studio with excellent production values but they never make me hard. They are the only studio who can actually have my favourite porn stars in a scene and not turn me on... I think its that they dont have enough editing, I get bored. They will stay on a close up of fucking for so long you forget who the cock and ass are attached to, also they dont change rhythm or position enough so it just gets tedious.

Bel Ami - Just personal taste. Don't like twinks or pretty boys. Nothing personal.

Mixed Bag

Kristen Bjorn - Really hot, beautiful men (sometimes too beautiful) good action, loads of cumshots which is great. But the flowery classical elevator music always annoys me, as well as the dubbing "si!, si!, tu grande!" Also they manage to make even rough fucking and double penetrations romantic and tender, sometimes you just want dirty hard fucking y'know?

Colt - The old stuff is so, so hot. One of the leaders back in the day, but nowadays the men are so muscle bound they can hardly walk let alone fuck someone properly.

Lucas - I really like the filming, and the sex is hot. But for my taste some of the guys are a bit twinky.

Falcon - Same as Colt really but probably the studio I have the least experience with, so can't really judge as well.

I agree...I like Cazzo. all time favorite is their, and my first with them...Berlin Techno Dreams from back in the late 90's. damn the men are hot..especially Xerxes with his fur covered body, big uncut cock and deep hole. The studios listed are the studio crap that I always avoid. They are filled with pretentious plotlines, buff steroid-charged bodies, models that all seem to look the same, ugly shaved pubes and mechanical sex where you can just imagine someone off camera telling them exactly what to do.

And of course, every gay video store stock exactly the same titles by exactly the same studios.

Luckily, the internet makes it easy to buy other stuff so one can avoid all that cheesy studio crap.

The only 'bigname' studio stuff I've seen that isn't bad is the Eurocreme stuff.

Seriously, could anyone tell the difference between a Colt, Bel Ami, Falcon or Lucas video? They are identical brands.

Honestly, I like Treasure Island alot. I like Studio 2000. All of them have some good and some bad.
Falcon has some hot guys -- mostly in the past -- but now too much s&m and fisting, which I personally find repulsive.
Bel Ami has some great films too, but too many twinks that all kind of look alike after a while.
Lucas has some good things, but needs more hot models, some of them are a bit borderline in the looks dept. But they're doing well trying to make the stories more interesting.
Kristen Bjorn has wonderful models, but too many group and orgy scenes -- I find those boring too.
I've liked Kazan's films often. Not sure I've seen Cazzo.
But it's all a matter of taste, of course.

Personally, the only reason that I don't care for Lucasfilm is because of Michael Lucas. He comes off as being too grandios and snobby for me; so do many of the performers. I'll admit that I do like the Fire Island Cruising films, but that's about it.

We didn't talk about Monster Bang or Rear Stable Productions. Those are some pretty hot films and they push the envelope a little, which is hot as well.

Studio 2000 sucks ass in my opinion...mainly becasue most of the time the guys aren't even having sex. I voted "other" because I don't decide by studio. I focus on theme and actors first. If the studio is a "reputable" one, then that's a boost.

I've bought mediocre videos from well-known studios and hot videos from unknown studios. The crummiest have been from unknown studios so I guess that's predictable.
