% Gay % Straight

Why the fuck do you care about the percentages that much? And why on earth would it bother what online strangers in cyberspace, whom you're never going meet, write down about their sexuality percentages? Does gayness have to uphold a strict purity level of 100%, and if we fail to honour our oaths to uphold that purity (taken with solemn vows in front of gold spray painted model representing Adonis), we are thereby invoking the wrath of the gay gods?
I put 99%, primarily because I like the look of the number 99. But I also suppose my reproductive capabilities could be brought into use should there be a near global mass extinction (though I would need to overcome my tendencies towards misanthropy in that case), I do not fall in the "yuck, I just saw a va-jay-jay" camp (my policy is va-jay-jay neutral and non-sexual) and I occasionally kiss female friends when drunk. However, my experiences and fantasies are exclusively gay. Is that bisexual? Umm, no. Don't really give a fuck if you think so though. Does it matter? No. Is gayness a competition in my opinion? No.
All those stated sexuality percentages actually tell you anyway, is how a person wishes to be perceived. These can be accurate, but often aren't.

As someone who is 99% gay and 1% straight, I have to say that is how I feel about my sexuality. Labels are limiting.
To explain the 1%: There have been women I have been attracted to enough to almost want to have sex with them. So far, I have only been with guys since I came out of the closet. But, there is that slim chance that if I were attracted enough, I would go for it.
Why does it bother you? I mean really, can you explain why?

One thing that I've learned over time that's served me well is to let others live their lives. Because really that's all I've ever wanted--the ability to live my life. Especially my sexual life.
Just as the folks who choose to ID 100% straight or 99% straight 1% gay or any other numerical combination you wish to project--we're all the same. People who are like you and me who only want the ability to live their lives. Especially their sexual lives. However it is they choose to do just that.
I'd dare say you might want to focus your concerns elsewhere. It's really not much of yours or mine or anyone else's business how someone sexually IDs. Especially around these parts, lol. Except until it is a problem, like with fake accounts and such.
Oh yeah, almost forgot. To answer your question: NO. I do not think "it inaccurate to give the option here have much percent your gay and how much straight. Why can't they just put bisexual in their profile. It's really bothering when some put 99 percent gay and 1 percent straight."

Maybe take some time to read the experiences of the 99% straight 1% gay members. Many haven't had same sex. Some get off to gay porn and nothing more. Some have jerked with but not touched another man. Some have had a few same sex experiences long ago. Others are curious to do for the first time now. Some simply admire the male member. Some consider themselves straight but suck cock only.
The variety is amazing. And while we have university studies which show that 90%+ of the population has at least some sexual physiological response to both sexes (which makes 90% of us physiologically bi) the word bi is a label which pulls up a set of stereotypes in the minds of many people which they don't agree fits them. So do straight and gay as labels.
Fluid is a label I really like for myself but when I first joined here I chose 90/10 because 90% of my sex dreams are straight and 10% gay. I changed to 70/30 because it's the percentage of partners I've had.
I think what many of the 99 percenters are saying is they're way more attracted to women than men--so much more so that they might as well be considered 100 percent if it weren't for (fill in the blank) about some men that turns them on.
I know I am massively more attracted to the female than the male form.
