I keep seeing these requests pop up. Are they spam? I mean, I have a membership there, and all you do is register. So what's with all these "invite key" threads that have been on here recently???

It went to invite only a while back. When I first joined you didn't need one, now you do. My account no longer exists and looking to get back in. If you are a member, you probably have invite keys you can give out. Would greatly appreciate one

My thoughts exactly novice_btm. Looking at these threads they appear to have been started by freshly-registered users who have contributed nothing to the site, but who seem to want something for nothing. Maybe the threads are being picked up by search engines and are bringing more and more people here in the hope of getting an invite - hardly the sort of user that LPSG would enhance the LPSG experience IMHO.

Maybe the mods could discuss these threads and decide on an appropriate course of action before the issue goes on much further.
