It’s interesting, at this time of year, how the self-righteous of The Party of Jesus are so fervently concerned with “Keeping Christ in Christmas” and telling others how to live. Perhaps they would be better off focusing on their own flawed personal existences and curtailing their misguided efforts against others; and, more importantly, work towards keeping the real teachings of Christ in Christianity and Evangelism in their own lives instead of their continued efforts to legalize, through government, their gospel of hate, bigotry, and discrimination. “And they’ll know we are Christians by our love...” Or is that hate? It’s too bad that the worst—Christians in name only and hate-mongers in practice—come off as representatives of those that are true practitioners of Christianity and who do great work in the world. The old adage comes to mind—“God prefers kind atheists over hateful Christians”.

Sure. Just like I’m fine with a child identifying as gay.
We ask kindergarteners if they have a little boyfriend/girlfriend (I work in an elementary school, so don’t even TRY to say no one does that...), but them identifying as a girl when they present as a boy? No different to me than a child identifying as gay or straight. It doesn’t imply damage, it doesn’t imply sexual maturity. It’s just as simple as this: No matter what our society (Tainted as it is by ‘Christian‘ fundamentalism masquerading as Christianity) tells us...we know who we are and what we like. For us older gay folks, it was society telling us that gay was bad, sinful, evil, disgusting, a sickness, reprehensible. We finally found our voices and spoke up and pushed back, and lo...we got rights we had been denied for far too long. Trans people face EXACTLY the same kind of realization - ‘I am not like I’m ‘supposed’ to be. Something is wrong with me. I’m broken. I’ll pretend, so I fit in...’ - and are facing the exact same opposition: religiously motivated hatred and lies about something they don’t understand and so, fear and want to destroy.

To see gay people turn around and do to our trans brothers and sisters what was done to us for so long is deeply saddening.

And morally outrageous.

I honestly don’t know how much more simply this can be put.

Serious question, here: How common would you say surgery is among under-18 youths? My understanding is that it’s quite rare, with the more common practice being hormone treatment and therapy until they can decide if they even want/need surgery.

Surprise, Gender Dysphoria is not something experienced by all transgender people:

What is the source for this? As far as I know, modification of the first ten amendments is not something that has ever been done, and no one seriously proposes doing so.
