I served on board the ENTERPRISE for 4 years. I'll be checkin' it out. Ole' Leonard donning the EARS once more!

Really, when? A couple friends of mine served in on the Enterprise as well, both were pilots. You would know them if during the same time.

Zachary Quinto is like perfect to play Spock, the only person right to play him after Nimoy
OMG, I love your screen name!! :veryhappy:
Leonard Nimoy is the God of my nerdiverse. :22:
But, I agree about Zachary Quinto, actually, the whole movie looks to be well cast.

Can't wait!

from IMDb synopsis:

Paramount synopsis: From director J.J. Abrams ("Mission: Impossible III," "Lost" and "Alias") and screenwriters Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci ("TRANSFORMERS," "MI: III") comes a new vision of the greatest space adventure of all time, "Star Trek," featuring a young, new crew venturing boldly where no man has gone before.

Explores the early Starfleet careers of future Enterprise officers Kirk (Chris Pine), Spock (Zachary Quinto), Scotty (Simon Pegg), Amanda Grayson (Winona Ryder), Uhura (Zoe Saldana), McCoy (Karl Urban), Sulu (John Cho), and Chekhov (Anton Yelchin). A Romulan, Nero (Eric Bana), and a much older Spock (Leonard Nimoy) are influences, as well as Captain Pike (Bruce Greenwood), the first captain of the USS Enterprise.

I'm actually more curious on how "Scotty" will be portrayed.

"How long to re-fit?" -- Kirk,

"Eight weeks. But you don't have eight weeks, so I'll do it for you in two." -- Scotty,

"Do you always multiply your repair estimates by a factor of four?" -- Kirk,

"How else to maintain my reputation as a miracle worker?" -- Scotty,

"Your reputation is safe with me." -- Kirk

And this.......

"She's supposed to have transwarp." -- Sulu

"Aye. And if my grandmother had wheels, she'd be a wagon." -- Scotty

The special effects look amazing. Every Star Trek movie always seemed to be less than Gene Roddenberry's visionary series. The morality plays in the series always seemed to give way to good vs evil vs special effects in the theatrical versions.

I just came a little in my pants.

I have have been waiting for this movie for a year now. This is the first time that I've seen the effects. They look truly amazing. I don't even care if the story is lame. The eye candy alone will be worth it. Seeing the younger versions of all my heroes will be pretty cool too... you know that tingle that slowly runs down your back and settles in the base of your spine....

I think that I need to resurrect my Start Trek 2009 Avatar.
