Either you loved him or you hated him in his movies. He played Lex Luthor in the first Superman movie. He was in the French connection and many more movies. But my 3 favorite of his movies were : The Quick and the Dead, The Royal Tannenbaum's and as this is LPSG yes I loved him in the Birdcage
