starting this thread, so those of us who have gone the generic ED drug(s) route can share their experience. I'll start off.

over a year ago, my doc gave me some Viagra. it takes 100mg to work on me, I am a big person. the side effects were terrible. it worked all right, but didn't last, and the next day I felt just plain terrible. I purchased some generic Viagra from an India RX, forgot which one. the brand name was Manly, I ordered the 100mg. I took it a few times, it wasn't as strong, it took 150 mg or 1 1/2 generic pills for an erection. I gave some to a friend who said 50mg of regular brand name Viagra worked for him. he took 100 mg a couple diff times and got nothing. eventually, it didn't work for me either, I took 2 generic pills and then another one, 300mg total. no erection, got blue vision like crazy, and a headache. threw the pills away.

then the doc gave me Cialis to try, 20mg does the trick. without getting into all of it, I found Cialis to work 100% better, and the side effects for me were minimal, a little stuffy nose, a little stiffness in back and upper legs but not bad. I can do stretches and make that go away. the $16 a pill is pretty steep. so I tried Forzest, generic cialis, 20 mg from fine-generics.com. 32 for $74. this generic works pretty well most of the time, altho i have taken it at times and nothing, some of the pills are duds. which is no problem really, if I feel it not working, I just take another one. typically, the weekend is more than likely my time to get laid, so I take a pill late Friday pm. if I get 'lucky" friday nite or even not, I take another 20 mg late Saturday morning. this double dose sets me for the next several days. by that I mean, I can get wood on Wednesday. this stuff stays in your body for days, and if my lady touchs and flirts with my meat, I get a nice chub, a little more action and it's stiff. better than hanging there limp and flaccid like before. I don't notice any diff side effects than the real Cialis, the generics dosing I think is inconsistent at times. one drawback to Cialis or generic Cialis, you can't drink much booze. I like to drink, not as much as I did once, but still like a few. so if you got sex in mind, easy on the booze.

I've used Tadalafil and Sulfoadenifil(similar to Sildenafil, generic Viagra) and gotten good results. Rock hard erections and a much shorter bounceback time between orgasms. Minimal sides too. Just a bit of a stuffy nose. Overall, if I know I want to have an extremely sexual night, one of those two are part of it!

TBH if you're using a drug and some of them are duds as you put it then you're not using a generic drug you're using a fake drug.

The difference is pretty crucial, generic drugs are made by legitimate pharmaceutical companies and are made of the same ingredients as the branded drug and should have exactly the same effect every time you take them.

A fake drug will be made of inferior ingredients and will not have the same effect as a branded drug. It's actually pretty dangerous to use these fake drugs because you don't know what the hell is in them, and you could poison yourself. That some of the pills you've been taking are duds indicates that the drug isn't made to the same standard or of the same ingredients, and that indicates its probably a fake rather than a proper generic.

If a drug doesn't have the same effect as the branded drug you don't want to shell out premium prices for then its a fake drug and should be avoided.

I have used Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra with only Viagra having good results. I even used Caverject, but got tired of the shots and lingering ache in my dick. I haven't used any generic meds for ED, but rather moved into the herbal pills. I must have tried over 30 brands. The daily ones were not useful at all. The only ones that work for me (this means me, not necessarily you) were the so-called event pills. My favorite are Machismo, Vicerex, GBI Pill, Size Matters, and Aziffa. They all work very well. Lately I am trying a NO generation combo of 1500 mg L-Arginine and 120 mg Pycnogenol, which seems to work well. Check out the abstract at this web site to understand why I am trying these two in combo. Treatment of erectile dysfunction with pycnogenol ... [J Sex Marital Ther. 2003 May-Jun] - PubMed result

The only oral I have not used is Levitra and from what I have been told by others it does not work as well as either Tadalafil or Sildenafil Citrate. I have in fact with a good source found the stuff from India to be just as good as the domestic variety and depending on the amount less than 1/4 the cost.

I have an Rx for injections, but, there are times that the injections are just a great deal of trouble and not worth the effort.

I have had good experiences with the imported brands and have had exactly the same performance I have had from domestic.

the rx companys overseas claim they meet a world standard for manufacturing drugs. the fact that some of the pills work just like their brand name counterparts and very few don't, doesn't mean it's fake drug. it means they messed up in the manufacturing process. some of the pills have tadalafil in them and some don't. and overseas is the only place you will find generic tadalifil made. as far as paying premium prices , I pay $2.30 for a generic pill & pay $18 for brand name Cialis. even if I factor in, a couple duds, I am no way approaching $18.00 per generic pill.

I was hoping to get other users of generic ED meds to tell their experiences. I didn't really want experiences from using the name brand ED drugs, this has been discussed many times previously.

have tried several of the readily available "herbal viagra" pills available in porn shops & various other outlets. Extenze, Stiff Nights & Bonerz did absolutely nothing for me. Rock Hard Extreme has worked pretty well.

As for the prescription stuff, a friend gave me some generic Cialis... which worked pretty well (we had FUN!)... Recently purchased some pharmaceutical grade Cialis... seems to have a delayed effect on me... took about 8 hours to start workin... then, it REALLY worked. No major side effects to speak of...

everyone's physiology is different, so I imagine the effects will be different. What works for one may not work for another.

I know. Isn't information 7 years old just too ancient? Just kidding. I'm sure if you worked on it, more recent info could be found, but this "old info" is still interesting and potentially useful for us.

As for my status, I was taking all the pills right after lunch, which may have contributed to my upset stomach lately (only possible because I have other stomach problems). Starting yesterday I changed protocol to 1000 mg l-arginine plus 60 mg pycnogenol after breakfast and 500 mg l-arginine plus 60 mg pycnogenol around 9 PM. No stomach problems now. Also, I'm getting good night time and morning wood. So far I would say ths regime is working. Again, besides this benefit, pycnogenol is good for many other reasons. Here is a link as an example.

Post prostate surgery I tried them all. The expense is outrageous, as insurance only provides 4 pills per month....guess they think thats enough sex. If anyone has a good recomendation for generic affordable that works, and where to get it online without prescription. I would appreciate....I can rise on my own sometimes, but not enough or long enough to satisfy my needs.

Currently trying the Enzyte herbal supplement. Day 3...no noticable difference.

Cialis did nothing for me, I tried two different types. One from alldaychemist. I then tried caverta from alldaychemist. It works just as well as brand viagra which I get from my GP. Would love to try caverject.

I am probably the resident expert on ED injectables. Caverject is composed of a single ingredient and that is PGE-1. (Prostaglandin E-1) This does work but has a lower comfort level than the combinations. The combinations are Bi-Mix, Tri-Mix and Quad Mix.
Quadmix consists of (4) drugs which are Phentolamine, Papavarine, Atropine and the Prostaglandin E-1 that you are familiar with. Having over the years tried all the combinations the most comfortable is Quadmix. The (4) drugs when combined work better by far than the single especially with regards to comfort.

The method of action between sildenafil citrate and vardenafil (Viagra and Levitra) are identical. Tadalafil (Cialis) works differently and in a different manner even though it is classified as a PE-5 inhibitor.

My experience with Tadalafil is that it works best when used on a daily low dosage basis.

The problem with Tadalafil on a daily basis is that it is very prone to causing acid reflux and indigestion. If I use this in this manner I have to take a nightly dosage of an OTC treatment for this condition.

Some do not respond to Sildenafil or Vardenafil others do not respond to Tadalafil. The one with the best odds of response is in fact injection therapy with only about a 10% failure rate. As a general rule the orals are only effective if the level of ED is light to low moderate. Any level of this condition over that does not respond well without other factors being dealt with at the same time.

Most MD's are in fact not competent to treat ED and do not do sufficient diagnostic work to have the whole picture and resulting answer. ED is often a result of many physiological factors and not just one.

In my own case I had the good fortune until his death to have an outstanding MD. He passed away early this year so now after years of good care I have to re-invent the wheel AGAIN!

Good complete diagnosis of ED can make a light duty treatment work well, because it may be a multi-layered approach that is best.

I'm still using Forzest but very little. I was placed on generic zocor to get my LDL down about 2 months ago. the rest of my cholesterol levels were fine. as time goes along, I get more morning wood, and a spontaneous erection or two. so maybe as I'm getting more "healthy" my ED is lessening.
I did notice with Forzest a little indigestion and sometimes it is slow acting, and lasts for days. for that reason, I stopped using it to see if I could achieve an erection without Forzest, and I have.

Regarding "duds", I take only U.S. manufactured and doctor-prescribed Viagra or Cialis, and once in awhile I get what seems to be a dud. I have a friend who's had the same experience with Levitra, so I'm not sure this is just a generic problem.

Not sure if any one is better then the others. I have used Viagra, Levitra, and Cialis and find that Viagra and Livitra work better then Cialis. These two drugs are what my urologist most often prescribes. However, a buddy of mine who just (a week ago) had porstate surgery was prescribed Cialis to bring blood to the penis.
