Cysts...nasty little fuckers aren't they? I had a recurring cyst/boil type of thing reappear several times on my left buttcheek about an inch past where my labia ended (left a white scar). I also had a pea size cyst reappear several times on my inner labia on the left side. These were actually secondary to what was happening on the inside and a precancerous condition. Now that I've been cancer free for a year they have not reappeared on my cheek or labia. They were rather painful and were always filled with blood only no pus.

Other reasons for cysts appearing on a females genitals can be a secondary symptom of diabetes, pcos, genetic (like Hilaire's case), and so on....get it checked out people, that is the only way you will know what that cyst is. Be healthy LPSG friends! :)

lol They don't leave. I always hurt. Just ignore the pain, ya know? The only thing that helped was the birth control. Which I can't have anymore, grr. This forum is actually very informing. I didn't know any of these things.

Alright Nico, FINALLY I have time to write that post I promised. My apologies for the delay (you know why I was delayed).

I've had four cysts. My first one happened when I was 19 or 20. The next two came soon after that. The fourth one was quite recently - it (mostly) disappeared just before Easter.

The top three circles I've drawn on this picture show the locations (approximate) of the first three. The bottom filled in circle shows the location of the most recent one. Note - the picture is NOT of me!!! It was borrowed (pinched really, coz it's not as though I'm giving back something in return) from Wikipedia. All of them were actually inside the outer lips, but I couldn't be bothered searching for a pic that would allow me to show it more accurately.

Cyst Locations.jpg

So, when the first one appeared, it hurt like all fuck. Went to see a doctor. He said they usually disappear by themselves. I told him I was in agony, and that surely he could do something about it. He said 'No, at this point I can't'. Apparently, Australian doctors don't like to lance them, because they almost always come back (personally, I think it's worth it, for the temporary pain relief, and on the off chance that it will be permanent). He would only do surgery on it if it went for a particularly long time AND if it was particularly painful and preventing me from living life normally. However, he also said that it was almost at that point.

He suggested all the usual remedies (hot compresses etc). But he also said 'I'm not really supposed to say this, but squeezing (popping it from the inside, not towards the outside) often seems to help, and it might be the only thing that stops you from needing surgery on it, as it hasn't gone away by itself yet'.

His other highly useful piece of info - I'd gotten it from masturbating too hard :redface::redface:. Not that he put it that way. He actually said 'They can sometimes be a result of too much pressure placed on the area'. Well, I've always been a fan of over-stimulation, and my favourite technique at that time was rubbing my clit and surrounding areas REALLY, REALLY hard with a vibrator. So that looked to be the cause. Cue extreme embarrassment :redface::redface:.

So, in an attempt to avoid surgery, I went home and I squeezed the fuck out of it. It fucking hurt. I can't describe how much it fucking hurt. I screamed (and apparently I have a high pain tolerance). But it got rid of it!!!! :biggrin1::biggrin1::biggrin1: I actually felt the fucker burst and start draining. Within a day or two the pain was completely gone and all was good again.

Over the next year or so I got another two. Didn't bother going to the doctor's and got rid of them in the same way (this time BEFORE they got to the immense agony stage). After I got the third one, I decided it was time to change my masturbation habits because my current method was obviously not doing me any good (yes, it took three cysts before I gave in and changed it ). Now I get my over-stimulation by using several toys at once, instead of by extreme pressure. Once I changed from the extreme pressure method I didn't get another cyst until recently.

The cause of the most recent one was a bit more ambiguous. I don't use toys in that area, so it didn't share a cause with my past ones. I DID end up going to the doctor for this one, because after a week or two it still hadn't disappeared, and I'd been squeezing it on and off since day 1. She said it was just one of those thing (ie. I don't know what the hell caused it). She gave me antibiotics, just in case, and said I'd just have to wait patiently for it to disappear.

Fuck that!!!! I ended up attacking it with a needle I had leftover from injecting (medicinal) drugs last year. I got rid of the medication inside it first, then lay down with a roll of paper towel (in case I hit a blood vessel and my warfarin made me bleed to death), and some alcohol wipes, and poked the needle in as far as I dared. Two days of needle poking seemed to get rid of the bulk of the liquid. There was only a tiny little core left that I couldn't get to (about the size of a pea), and once the bulk of it was gone even the core started to drain and disappear by itself. I ended up having the horrible thing for a month or so all up and I DON'T want another one again. Ever.

Well mine have never hurt, but I'm a guy so maybe were less sensitive to them haha.

The one I have right now has not gone away by itself and is getting a little bigger. The stuff inside seems way too solid to squeeze/pop or whatever. Not sure whether I should go at with a needle or not, that could just infect it. But scheduling/paying for a urologist visit and possibly needing a stitch or two is really annoying.

Any ideas anyone? Does heating it actually work?

Ugh stupid cysts.

The heat thing is supposed to have some effect. I just couldn't be bothered with the fucking around.

The needle thing is officially a REALLY bad idea. My doctor would have throttled me if she'd known I was doing it. But I'm not known for my good sense when there's something popable/squeezable/pokable hanging round on my body. I did consider the infection thing, but as I was using a sterile needle, intended for poking into the body, plus I was already on antibiotics and I had alcohol wipes, I figured I'd probably be fine.

You should probably try the heat thing for a few weeks and see if it works, then go to the doctor if it doesn't have any effect. I believe the heat has to be applied several times a day minimum. There's a fair bit of info about it on the net.

The sac must be removed otherwise the cyst will keep returning. Here is a video of a cyst being removed from the back of someone's head. You can see the sac after it has been extracted.

When I saw the doc about the one on my tailbone, he sad that if it didn't respond to antibiotics, they'd have to drain it manually - ie, hack it open & pull everything out, then let it drain the residue itself. The issue with this method is that the drainage hole can heal into a little tunnel leading straight inside your body, instead of scabbing & sealing over like a standard wound. The impression I got was that any kind of surgical intervention was a last-dich effort.

But do use heat packs - a hand towel soaked in hot water as you loiter in the bath reading or browsing on your phone is a surprisingly fast method to bring the cyst to a head and pop & drain itself.

Glad to hear that you are still cancer free! And yes there are numerous reasons tht cysts appear. Thats why my dermatologist sent the samples (from both lip and peen) off to the lab.

Sorry you are i pain but glad that this thread has been of some help to you, at least in term of information:smile: Hope you find some relief. Hang in there.

I asked my interist who to see, urologist or dermatologist, and she recomended the deratologist first as it would be more their thing, well for the one I had (top of shaft not obstructing anything). Make an appointment, Its well worth it if just for the peice of mind:smile:

You? not have good sense? noooooo...lol! Actually it's not that bd the way you did it (terile needle, antibiotics, alchohol wipes) thoug if it returns you may need it surgically removed to get the sac, as discussed below!
The sac must be removed otherwise the cyst will keep returning. Here is a video of a cyst being removed from the back of someone's head. You can see the sac after it has been extracted.
Awesome vid! Thank you!
Yeah this is true, apparently even if only a small part of the outer sac of the cyst remains then the cyst can and probably will return.
It's why my doc removed the whole thing and cauterised a bit. The one on my lip hasn't returned so i am hopeful about the one on my peen doing likewise.

Again thats why my doc cauterized the site.Promotes healing form the inside out and doesn't allow for that nice tunneling effect. He had to do more so witht he lip as it was very deep. Thank God I didn't wait for the peen one to get as large!

I'm not worried about piece of mind. I know what it is... it's harmless. I had one removed a couple years ago by a urologist so I know they have experience doing it. But obviously it cost money + required two stitches and a couple weeks to heal which is really annoying.

I'll just try heat for a while. But it's in a bad spot to get a big heating pad on it so I'm stuck with cotton balls I run under hot water which I'm not sure is effective enough to have any effect at all.

Video - ewww, but also fascinating :biggrin1:.

They do go to surgical removal eventually with genital cysts, but generally they prefer to let them disappear on their own, unless they get really problematic (or so I've been told by two doctors). I wonder how the ones that need surgical removal are different from the ones that disappear by themselves? If entire sac removal is only sometimes necessary (ie. in the ones that don't disappear without help), there must be something about the physiology of those cysts that makes them different.

The issue with this method is that the drainage hole can heal into a little tunnel leading straight inside your body, instead of scabbing & sealing over like a standard wound.

Okay, that made me squirm!

ROFL :biggrin1:. And there will be no returning of the cyst, thank you very much! Not if sheer will has anything to do with it .

Yours won't be returning either. Because I said so .

Here you can get fairly small heat packs as well as larger ones, although I've never seen one as small as a cotton ball.

If even the smaller heat packs are too big, you could try using a corner of a towel. I think it might hold the heat better than a cotton ball.

Been using cottons balls soaked in hot water for 5-6 days now. Unless my eyes are playing huge tricks on me it looks like the cyst has gotten a good bit smaller. I'll keep it going for another 5-6 days to see if I can get it even smaller.

Yay!!! Keep working at it. Your fingers may be even better at detecting differences than your eyes are. Does it FEEL smaller?

Hmmm, I think the problem with this is that rather than actually drawing the material of the cyst out you're probably only reducing the water in the tissue surrounding the cyst, taking down the inflamation essentially, you could also be drawing water/liquid out of the cyst itself. You could simply be making the cyst smaller and harder, and more compacted.

That could cause problems down the line if the cyst returns or if you ever need to have it removed. I could be wrong though, I'm not a doctor, just someone with experience.

It does feel smaller!

I'm not under any illusions this thing is going to totally disappear by just heating it. It won't, the sac will always be there unless I have it removed. But I'd much rather manage it with heating, if possible, then have to go pay someone to remove it and possibly have to deal with a stitch or two for multiple weeks. It's already small and only visually noticeable when I have an erection. And now that it's getting smaller its getting hard to even notice it with an erection.

Next time I actually have to go to the doctors for a legit reason I'll see if they can remove it. Until then I'll keep heating it.

I've been dealing with a pilondial cyst on the tailbone for about a year now. I wasn't sure what it was, other than a tender spot right against the tailbone slightly to the right and about 4 inches above my anus. I simply dealt with it for a couple of months until one day it abscessed and made life unbearable. I could barely walk, bending over brought tears to my eyes, and it inflamed to the size of a half golf ball. Unfortunately I was on the road for work and couldn't get to a doctor easily.

A little googling allayed my fears of an STI and I set off for the bathtub and water as hot as I could stand (reminiscent of the hot baths in Seoul - mmmm). I got a little drainage the first time, took some aspirin and went to work. Back at the hotel for lunch I repeated the process, and risked applying some pressure, when it abruptly released, like pulling the drain plug out of a blow-up pool. The stench was horrible but the relief heavenly. AM & PM treatments like that over the next few days and it was down to the size of a pea and completely painless.

That was about 4 months ago. I now soak it a couple of times a week and haven't had a flare-up since. Eventually surgery is likely in the offing, but if I can avoid the knife with a little regular hygiene all the better.

BTW, thanks, all, for this thread.
