Yes, I was just going to post about this. That interview was actually conducted back in 2004, and one of the points he makes is that he's always been open about his sexuality, and yet for some reason the media has never made a big deal out of it.

Maybe because he's making some aloof statement about sexuality. He's never been linked to any guy. As hot as I think he is this sounds like interview 'hooey'.

He's aging. Getting a little chubby around the cheeks. Nobody's beauty lasts forever. He was built like a brick shithouse for Beowolf and 300. Beautiful body, but very difficult to maintain that muscle mass.

Brit Rupert Everett MUST be pissed off about that.

Gerard Butler has a hot Scottish accent. He can get away with murder with that. He could be caught in an alleyway sucking off a line of randy sailors and Scotsmen in kilts. And have the pictures up on TMZ.com. And the women from THE VIEW would still be picking straws on who gets to have Gerry Butler's kid.

He looks a helluva lot better in these photos than he did as the super-shaved, super-muscled Leonidas in 300.

it's a more common thing really. Tons of male celebrities are Bi and the reason why many keep it in the closet is simply because it's hard all that to explain to the mainstream audience.
I've worked at places where there was an overall mainstream mentality and I know how much they frown upon masculine men who are opened about their sexuality whether they be bi or gay.
If Gerald Butler really said that openly in an interview I applaud him since few in his position would dare to do something like that!

Just to set the record straight for the 100's of us who read the article about Gerard Butler possibly jumping the fence from time to time...it appears that's it's a hoax. Read about it here....

Did Gerard Butler Ever Confirm His Bisexuality to Movieline? | Movieline

If you can't believe what you read on the "internets," what can you believe?

Damn, MichiganRico beat me to the punch.

Still, it's nice to dream that a male celebrity would be bold enough to make this type of admission in a public forum. Not to downplay the many out celebrities, but it would truly be a revolution for a leading male celebrity to say something like this. I like to think it would lead to a greater discussion about the fluidity of sexuality - a discussion that is LONG overdue.
