yes very hot although a little dorky looking at times.
There's this film where he's wearing a towel around his waist and you could clearly see a nice lumpy bulge. he must be packing.

well that's not the towel scene that i'm talking about. he plays a bad guy in the movie with the tight towel around his waist.
and in regards to "300" i much prefer a body like that than something exaggerated like arnold's.

The film has a very heavily processed look, and was shot almost entirely in blue-screen and green-screen environments [click to see the trailer], so it's difficult to discern precisely to what extent Gerard might have been 'enhanced'.
However, the two images below, taken under (relatively) normal conditions on the set during the filming indicate that at least some of the musculature is his own:
