We've had a landline forever. Everyone in the house has cell phones and I have been trying to convince Mrs, Squirrel that it is a total waste of money. All we seem to get are telemarketing calls anyway. Yesterday was the last straw. Got a call at 7:10am. Recorded message Visa-MasterCard central about our card, as if there were such a thing. Noon comes and another call. These idiots are getting crafty. They can spoof a fake local number that shows up on your call display. Decision has now been made. Bye bye landline. We'll go through the call display, and anyone we know will get a call telling them our cell number to use.

Edit: it would be nice if edit feature would allow the title to be edited as well. Gettin, duh.

We only had a landline for my grandmother's use. She didn't know how to use her cell phone, and we wanted her friends to be able to reach her when she moved in with us. After she passed, we got rid of it. We never used it. In fact, we never should have gotten it. Her friends always called her on my cell phone.

My dad still has a land line. He lives somewhere crazy rural, though. No cell signal where his house is. Other than that? I don't know any people who have a land line for their place.

I also haven't had a landline in years. Too many robocalls. In the old days I kept an air horn by the phone for the nuisance calls. It put an end to it quickly. Then they wised up and started using machines.

I get robocalls now and then on my cell, but not nearly as often as with the landlines. No way around it unfortunately, as our information gets passed around like joints at a party.

We ditched it about a year and a half ago. I was reluctant because I wanted us to have a central point of contact. But the only person who called it was my mom and after she died we only got robocalls.

I thought I’d miss it but don’t at all.
