Next week I will get cut and quite frankly, I’m not very pleased about it..
Unfortunately I don’t know the medical terms for this but a couple of months ago I got an infection causing scar tissue to build up at the end of the foreskin.
Gradually it spread and the skin around the opening started closing up and lost all its elastic characteristics, to the point where I can only open I can only fit my pinky finger in there.

My doctor has been very straight with me and told me that it’s really not optional as it could potentially spread further and cause more problems later on.
I’ve asked time and time again if there wasn’t another way to solve it but it seems there isn’t.

Perhaps I’m overly worried about all this? Had they told me “we need to cut off one of your toes” I would just have told them to go for it… this feels different, I feel very uncomfortable about this whole scenario.
I just hope that they can cut off as small amount of skin as possible in order for me to more or less keep my foreskin.

You have a nice cock mate. Don't fret. You be 54 and it will tke a wee bit longer for things to heal. Your head wants to be free...what can you do. Just be assured and grateful you are living in a day and age where your problem can be corrected, and not back in the dark or lightly shaded ages. My partners second eldest(she has 5 boys) has just had this done....he is extremely happy with the outcome.

Did you ask the same doctor or get a second opinion? Your condition sounds like BXO, which can be treated without circumcision. No promises, but it could be worth looking into.

Hey Snozzle, I checked the link and I ended up figuring out the English term for my condition, It's "Phimosis".

I had opinions from two different doctors and while they never mentioned any creams, from what I've understood it's simply too far a long and needs to be solved this way.

I will make sure to read up on this in detail later on though and call my doctor Monday to see what he has to say about it.

Big shout out to all the people who have pm'd me with their experiences, it's had a really calming effect. Thanks for taking the time! :)

I have been cut since birth so i cannot tell you how painful it will be or what you will feel different afterwards. What i can say though its that i have a lot of sensitivity in my cock even though it is cut. Best of luck.

I had a similar issue, ring of scar tissue just inside the inside of the foreskin. I never got a solid reason as to what caused it, but I'm 95% certain in my case it wasn't an infection of any kind, just pulling it too tight and it gradually worsening.

Is it inhibiting sex/masturbation/hygiene now? I'm not an expert, but if it is then it does sound like circumcision might be the best for you, as it was for me.

I had a look into alternatives and there doesn't seem to be a way to repair scar tissue. It's pretty much there for good unless it's tiny, or so my searches told me.

When I was going to have it done, I asked for as little as possible to be taken off, and I was a little bit surprised to see how much needs to be taken for a circumcision, really. Or maybe my guy overdid it a bit, I don't know.

But I would say, ask them to leave the frenulum and surrounding area. Mine was cut quite high up towards it, and there are loads of of pleasurable nerve endings that are gone because of it.

I was frustrated by having to have it done too, you lose a lot of sensitivity in the the most sensitive part of your body, which obviously lowers the enjoyment to be had, but if things are problematic as is then even taking that into account it'll be an improvement for you.

I can still have sex, it's just not quite as enjoyable as before and sometimes, especially after longer sessions it hurts a little.
I have no issues keeping it clean though, it's a bit more inconvenient considering I could just roll the foreskin back before.. but It's not a huge issue.

It's gotten gradually worse though and I don't really want to wait for it to get to a stage where I can't do any of the above mentioned things.

I'll make sure to ask if there are different ways for them to cut me, in order to not lose any sensitivity or as little as possible.

If circumcision is truly your only option, at least keep all your sensitive nerves & skin, and get just a "DORSAL SLIT" or similar type of surgery (preputioplasty) that opens the foreskin (instead of removing it). This method has the quickest recovery and allows for the your foreskin to be completely rolled back, while still keeping all your nerves.

FYI.

Dorsal slit has a long history as a treatment for adult phimosis, since compared with circumcision it was relatively easy to perform, did not risk damage to the frenulum, and before the invention of antibiotics was less likely to become infected.

Preputioplasty or prepuce plasty, also known as "limited dorsal slit with transverse closure", is a plastic surgical operation on the prepuce or foreskin of the penis, to widen a narrow non-retractile foreskin which cannot comfortably be drawn back off the head of the penis in erection because of a stenosis which either has not relaxed during childhood and adolescence or has re-narrowed after sexual maturity.
Preputioplasty is a treatment for phimosis in the alternative to circumcision and radical dorsal slit
which is conservative, non-traumatic and less invasive and can be performed on an outpatient basis under local anaesthetic in a doctor's office and
has the advantage of healing very quickly with little or no significant cosmetic alteration to the appearance of the penis.

Hydralisk, when phimosis happens rapidly as an adult, it is usually caused by a condition which would re-occur, making creams and stretching only temporary solutions. so removal of the deffective skin is almost always the only proper solution.

You could ask for a partial circumcision where only the deffective skin is removed, potentially leaving your heald half or more covered. During healing, you have to retract very often to ensure the scar doesn't cause a new phimosis. But once healed it works fine.

or you can go for a standard circumcision that leaves head exposed. Looks better when soft. But you need to relearn masturbation technique.

Beause of your condition, the doctor has less choice in what skin to leave/remove because the tight band of skin has to be part of the skin being renoved. This may include some inner foreskin and not just shaft skin.

Dorsal slit on adult will yield ugly results. Do not accept this treatment. Yeah, you keep all your skin, but end up with ugly penis with lopsided skin.

Preputial plasty (basically smaller slits all the way around instead of one long dorsal slit) may widen the 4skin and leave a more cosmetically acceptable result like a partial circumcision, but because it leaves the skin which tigtened, you odds of the phimosis coming back are high.

If you're going to look partially circumcised via a preputial plasty, you might as well get a partial circumcision which removes the problem skin to get rid of the problem once and for all.
