A while back I was up late, due to insomnia, channel surfing and somewhat bored. (I hate it when that happens)

I came across this movie : Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning (2004)

Taking place in the Canadian wilderness (19th century) the story was intriguing and entertaining. I am normally not a horror fan but I LOVED the story of these two sisters who eventually both became werewolves and reek havoc on the inhabitants of the fort they were living in.

While browsing the net for movies to download I happened across the first of the series. Ginger Snaps (2000)

Campy, hillarious, and the use of werewolfism as a metaphor for puberty. The on going and totally relatable characters was in my estimation worth the download.

The prequal had me hooked from the beginning. (No pun intended)

GINGER SNAPS - the movie

Fangora magazine announced a 3rd movie in the series. Ginger and Brigitte are awesome characters and very unusual. Not your tpical horror flick, at least I thought so.

Who knew Canadian Werewolves could be so much fun, and interesting yet!?!

Great set of films! I found the first one in a cheap DVD bin at my local store a number of years ago and have ended up collecting them all.

I'm surprised that so few people have seen these films and everyone I've 'forced' to watch them have always love them.

Spread the word!

I love good horror movies, so of course I am a fan of Ginger Snaps. The first film was a great twist/interpretation of the werewolf movie.

The second film, or whichever one took place in sort of Salem witch trials era, was bad on my first viewing. But, I'll give it another look-see when/if Netflix carries the triology. :)

Im going to have to re watch these on your advice. I just couldnt get thru them. I thought they were a wee bit boring.

I just thought the twist on the girls being the werewolves was good. I adore black comedies.

Not the academy award type movie, but for me they were a good jaunt in horror. Something I don't normally do.

Plus that cute blond guy that plays Buck Rogers on the Sci Fi channel is in "Unleashed".
