No way, he is using "ginger" as a total compliment and desire. It should always be such. ;)

Somewhat off topic but that's an impressive piece of meat you're showcasing HungLA.

I can't seem to refer myself as a ginger, but I think in other parts of the English-speaking world it must be the norm. Btw I love it when a guy doesn't have a gag reflex. Too bad you're a bit too far away HungLAchef.

Call 'em redhead or ginger - I appreciate them hugely!
And the paler the better - not so into pale men who have dark hair,
but redheads or 'rusty' cannot be pale enough for me.
And I think I attribute all kinds of intriguing personality and sexual
characteristics to them that they may not turn out to possess -
    although ... they usually do.

Perhaps a little nuts - but then, look where I check in every day

I don't mind being called 'ginger'. In Australia, red-heads are sometimes called 'blue' or 'bluey'. I quite like 'rusty' and I giggle at 'fire-crotch' and 'fanta-pants' (is Fanta a global thing or just Australia?) but I absolutely HATE the term 'ranga'!

One of the more creative ones I've heard is 'Lismore'. When travelling by train in Australia, a town called 'Lismore' is one stop away from a town called 'Orange', so we're called 'Lismore' because - like the colour red - it's one stop away from orange.

I'm with you through "fire-crotch." Never heard the term "fanta-pants," but it makes sense, as Fanta is orange. I'd prefer not to be called fanta-pants. I am not familiar with "ranga," but it seems orangatang may be behind that one and I'm no orange-hair-covered ape. Well, then again....

I think 'ranga' is short for 'orange' but the 'g' is hard (like in 'gas') not soft (like in 'gel')

(Did that make any sense? Writing how to pronounce a word is so difficult!)

It's mainly an Australian term so I don't think many non-Australians would have heard it. Because of our strong bogan accent, it sounds really mean which is probably why I hate it so much.

Didn't mean to sound ungrateful in my previous post. Any fan of red heads is alright with me! Thanks for the red head (Ginger) shout out, hunglachef.

Lismore and Orange are several hundred kilometres apart. Orange is 3 hours west of Sydney by train, Lismore is 10 hours north of Sydney by train (though it's worth noting the trains no longer go to Lismore). Bathurst is maybe the correct town?
