Yikes! This is terribly sad. Pancreatic cancer can wipe a person out within weeks once it's diagnosed. She's a previous cancer survivor (colon, I believe). May the universe allow her enough time to close down shop without haste and the new regime find a suitable replacement.

It is early stage so I don't necessairly know that she will leave the bench. She may decide to take some time off and then resume once she is in the clear. We have to remember Rehnquist died on the bench; so there is precedent for her not to retire upon discovery of the disease.

If she does retire or GOD forbid worse, since she is the only woman on the bench, I would think Obama is piegon-holed into picking another woman or all hell is gonna break loose.

Wish her all the best for a full recovery.

I'm tremendously saddened to hear the news: Over the years, she came to be my favorite justice, not just for her like-minded political alignment, but her writing ability and her prescience. She has the ability to see how decisions will play out farther into the future than the other justices.

I wish her a swift recovery, and I hope that Obama grows a pair before her seat becomes vacant.

The good thing is if/when she retires, it's highly unlikely her replacement won't be as loony left as she. I figured she was going to retire within this year anyways. Guessing the BO administration will do a tax background check.

There is NOTHING good about Justice Ginsburg having pancreatic cancer. It's a terrible diagnosis and she will die from it. She is a woman with family. It's very sad. Sadder is that you chose to post a snarky comment about this unfortunate incident. Any respect I may have had for you is now totally gone.

Lets not plan her funeral yet.... remember last year we thought Ted Kennedy was going to die because of his brain tumor.

BTW, Mindseye what do you by Obama grows a pair. I though you were what some members of this board might call a "Obamabot"

Where did I say it was good she had pancreatic cancer.? It was about her impending retirement (regardless of cancer or for the fucking sake of it) . Nice try lameass.

Regardless, if it was Bush or Cheney that came down with it... you fucking know full well ya hypocrite this board would be riddled w/ bally ho. Guessing you wouldn't be remarking then, even so as quick you were to find a way to jump on me asshole.

    Put me on ignore dickwad.

    M'kay. Whatever floats yer boat.:umbrella:

BTW: Take a lesson from Tripod, and learn how to debate w/ those who aren't on the same side of the aisle. You'd be surprised how much more engaging a debate can be.

If you seriously call what TRIPOD had to offer "DEBATE".....well, it's all clear to me now why i despise you. I am more than capable of rising to the challenge of a GOOD debate. Won't waste my time proving the TRUTH to an idiot though. YOU twist everything you touch into something grossly distorted and ugly. Much like your visage.

I'm what some members of this board routinely call an Obamabot. The guy was neither my first choice, nor my second, but once the primaries wrapped up, he was my clear choice over John McCain.

And that makes me an "Obamabot". Along with 53% of the electorate and 365 members of the Electoral College, baby!
