Glasses

I know none of the people I speak to are eye doctors but this goes out to everyone. Perhaps someone will be able to answer this question fully but I think I'm getting had by Lenscrafters. So I have a pair of semi-rimless glasses that broke at the bridge and I've gone to several different locations that sell eye glasses and they have all given me different stories, ideas, and solutions.
In the beginning I was looking for frames preferably ones that were close to what I have now so I could put my lenses into them. One store told me that they didn't have anything and she was measuring the frame and lenses to the ones I have now. She told me to go to a place that could solder the bridge back together. I'm like this is a hard plastic I don't think that's going to work out well.
So I went back to the original place where I bought the frames and lenses and asked them if they had a cheaper version of the frames that I have now. Keep in mind they are wanting $220 for the exact frames I have. She found another pair that would fit my frames but they are $101 after discounts and taxes.
Now, I'm wondering If I should pop out my lenses and carry them into a store and ask them if they have any frames that would fit the lenses whether it be semi-rimless or full frame(going under the assumption that they are basing the notion that they don't have anything cheaper than $100 due to the fact that my frames are semi-rimless) or should I go online and buy a pair of frames and see if they will fit my lenses.
If I do it online I can enter in the dimensions of my old glasses and they can find frames that meet those dimensions and give me a much lower price. Now I can do that or I can buy new frames and lenses since I have my measurements from my last eye exam. In the long run, both of the latter options are cheaper than paying $100 for frames from Lenscrafters. My only problem is getting someone to put the lenses into frames I've bought online.

What do you guys think? I've seen videos on youtube that show you how to remove lenses from semi-rimless frames. I would think my lenses should be able to fit into another pair of frames and not just specifically the pair I bought the first time.

It seems like they change the frame styles frequently so you can't get by with just buying new frames for old lenses--at a reasonable price anyway. I got tired of all of that and last time I got a new prescription I took it to Sam's and bought two identical inexpensive frames, one for a pair of clear bifocals and one for a pair of bifocal sunglasses. Then I took the same prescription to Wal-Mart and bought $9 frames for another set of each. I have done the same with expensive frames previously so when one frame broke, I always had a backup for my clear lenses. I asked one of the opticians, who said she had worked at one of the higher priced chain stores previously, and she said there wasn't much difference in quality of the cheap frames and the high priced ones. I have to wear glasses all of the time, I like the looks of these, and I got all four pairs for a little more than one pair of cheaper frames plus lenses would have cost me at the higher priced store at the mall--I checked before going to Sam's. I have had them a year already and no problems. Just saying...you don't always get more by paying more.

Don't waste all that time trying to fit your old lenses in a new frame. Just buy new glasses on line. You can get them as cheap as $40 bucks. Just send em your prescription (or your lenses, I imagine). One place is Eyeglasses - Prescription glasses, eyewear, buy glasses online - GlassesUSA but there must be hundreds.

Oh yeah I went to glassesUSA earlier and it was like $60ish for new frames and lenses. I was like I'm so being had by the local stores.

Thanks for your input.

definitely sound advice getting multiple pair. Need to get that done.
