still no "proof" that the Tea Party was or is racist. No signs, no language, no videos, no proof. and I would expect that you refuse to admit that "the New Black Panther" member ranting about killing white babies is NOT racist. I'll post the video if you wish. Now THIS is racist - prove me wrong dude. Margaret Sanger, Founder of Planned Parenthood, In Her Own Words

This is more proof that we can lead a dog to a bowl of Alpo, but if they decide to eat their own feces instead it isn't anyone else's fault. BTW, any black person going around talking about killing white babies is making a racist comment. However, since "the new Black Panthers" consist of only three nameless members from a propagated video about phony voter intimidation (who haven't killed anything but their own reputations) I don't think there's a threat to your well being. Nobody wants you or what you own. Stop being a paranoid idiot.

As for the Planned Parenthood tripe? Those statements were all made before the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Forgive me for saying this, but people of "your ilk" saying things about minorities was par for the course back then. And it still happens now within the ranks of "your ilk"... you know, the ones you defend and claim have no racist remarks even though one of "your ilk" holds up a sign that has the word n***er spelled wrong. But if you have to go that far back to find a racist sentiment then obviously you've freebased the crack known as "colorblindness" one time too many.

I had a discussion with a group of whites and black when at UCLA in the early 1990's. I stated that if given the choice between a black guy, dressed like me, that talks like me, and has the same values and a white dude with a boom box, long unkept hair, talking like a dude from the street - I would choose to hang out with the "black dude" - it's much more cultural than racist.

Oh look, people are yelling about Fox News and Nazis on the politics board.

Glenn Beck has elevated hyperbole to an artform. Similar to a lot of folks on here really.

Yeah , Whatever the equivalent to an "UNCLE TOM" is for a jewish person, this aptly describes RUPERT MURDOCH !
You are going to complain about Beck being an anti-semite racist loon and then say shit like that? Are you fucking kidding me? Whatever your feelings about Fox/Beck, that type of shrill, barely coherent, dreck makes you look just like him. Way to represent the modern intellectual liberal.

This is one of the most interesting political pieces I have ever watched.

part 1. YouTube - Pt 1 Glenn Beck AMERICA'S BLACK FOUNDING FATHERS Founders' Friday
part 2. YouTube - Pt 2 Glenn Beck AMERICA'S BLACK FOUNDING FATHERS Founders' Friday
part 3. YouTube - Pt 3 Glenn Beck AMERICA'S BLACK FOUNDING FATHERS Founders' Friday

Yes it is Glenn Beck. He is talking about the most prominent black guys during the founding of the nation. No screaming. No conspiracy theories. Quality, interesting stuff. If you watch it might soften your views of him a bit.

I had a discussion with a group of whites and black when at UCLA in the early 1990's.

Congrats. You visited a college, talked to less than 0.00001% of the entire black race and now that makes you an expert on race relations.

I stated that if given the choice between a black guy, dressed like me, that talks like me, and has the same values and a white dude with a boom box, long unkept hair, talking like a dude from the street - I would choose to hang out with the "black dude" - it's much more cultural than racist.

And that further shows your discriminating ignorance. I don't need anyone to dress like me, talk like me and share all of the same values as me in order to hang out with them. They most certainly don't have to be my skin color either. They just have to be interesting and decent people and that comes in all shades, attitudes and appearances. Alas, you wouldn't know that if you went into every encounter thinking they have to dress like you, talk like you...

And here you thought you were making one of those "can't we all just get along" comments? Damn you make this too easy.

How's this? Resurrected from a previous thread:
This vid of Teabagger signs is revealing and disturbing, but it has a pleasant bluegrassy soundtrack:

I have plenty more where that came from if you like. Despite dancing right on the rhetorical margin, you are one of the most transparent racists posting on this board BF2K, and your posting history clearly reveals it.

The ignorance, the ant-intellectualism, the unfounded misdirected rage - in short, the STUPIDITY - embodied in the Teaparty movement is not only disturbing, it is truly frightening the more attention and influence they gain. Glen Beck does nothing but promote and capitalize on that stupidity and fuel the fire. Who will stand up to him?
I don't think it's a stretch at all to compare him to Hitler pre-1930 and for awhile afterwards. Knowing what we now know in retrospect it seems hyperbolic, YES, but remember he was much loved, respected and admired by a significant number of "good Germans". [Read "real Americans"] His nationalistic message of anti-immigrant, anti-semitic, anti-other, "good German" values and a return to "simpler" times had great traction with the public and was what propelled him to power. I don't think it's a stretch to compare him to Joseph McCarthy either, also much loved, respected and admired on his rise to power. Where is Edward R. Murrow when we need him?

Could never happen again? Surely not in America. If we do not learn from history, we are destined to repeat it.

This is nearly laughable, even from a personal perspective!

I didn't take pictures myself, but when I went to a local teabag rally I was sickened by the level of racism I saw. One thing I know when I SEE and HEAR it is RACISM !!! I have been around it all my life so I know it very well and sadly it comes mostly from Self-avowed Christians ! HYPOCRITES !!!

Glenn Beck has elevated hyperbole to an artform. Similar to a lot of folks on here really.

Awww, well shucks , Thank you :biggrin1: *blush* .... I do the best I can !

Have any of you actually ever watched Glenn Beck's entire show from beginning to end? I think that if you viewed a few of his shows in this manner, instead of just watching the short clips shown on mediamatters and CNN that can easily be taken out of context, that you would have a different opinion of him.

I have, and my opinion of him is exactly what I've stated. I've also listened to Fatfuck Rush and others of his ilk, at least as long as I can stand it, and I am consistently appalled by the divisive propaganda spewed forth.
I am astonished and deeply disturbed that anyone other than a select fringe minority would buy into that crap.

No, no...that would require effort.

Nobody can disprove what Glenn says...because it's true...the evidence is in the libs/progressives/socialists own words.

All they do in retaliation is call him names...which is not only childish...but also hysterical.

Oh...then there is this letter from Abe Foxman, national director of the ADL:

Dear Glenn:
A direct-mail piece recently sent to some ADL supporters around the country inadvertently misidentified you on a list of celebrities who had made anti-Semitic statements over the past year.
This was clearly a mistake, and we deeply regret that your name was included in the mailing, which was produced by an independent, third-party contractor. I hope you will accept my personal apologies.
Even though we may disagree from time to time, I know that you are a friend of the Jewish people, and a friend of Israel.
Sincerely,
Abe
Abraham Foxman
National Director
But yeah...Glenn is a "jew hater"...because the Huffington Puffington Post said so.

Seriously...Bernie Madoff has more credibility than the Huff Po.

Yup , I have and though the shows are VERY SHORT on Facts, they are highly entertaining, some even frightening at times.
He can't be taken seriously if one values logic and reason over hyperbole and complete BULLSHIT but he makes for great comedic fodder !

Actually the main issue is really not per se the ever so entertaining Mr. Beck. Beck is a symptom of the entire thought process of a country going down hill. There are many cancers spouting opinions with little knowledge of reality. Beck is but one cog in a wheel of very disturbed individuals that include but are not limited to: Beck, O'Reilly, VanSusteren, and finally at a location over all of the above is the "Puppeteer" and that is Rupert Murdoch orchestrating this decay and doing this not for reasons of greatness or patriotism but instead for pure greed and power. If he can manipulate the people of a nation, via the manipulation of public opinion, he in fact controls the people and in time the nation. There is not one technique being used by extreme conservatives that has not been used before. However those using these exact same techniques were not found to be all that benevolent. After all they were the Nazi and Communist Parties as they tried to gain power over their people. It is not Glenn Beck, it is the psychological manipulation of a nation and at this point it is working very well because people are suffering. Look at the economics in the countries where political disasters and extremists tried to take power. Finding parallels is not at all difficult. The techniques are finding individuals or groups to turn into the "enemy" or create at least an illusion of an enemy. You then go in and say, vote for me because "I can protect you" from this evil. All anyone has to do is to study what has taken place in history the information is there and is very easy to find. Joseph Stalin did it, Adolph Hitler did it, Fidel Castro did it, and this minor little list is just the tip of the iceberg.

There is zero missile science here. These theories are covered in advanced Psychology books and the ways that they have been used and will be used is explained very thoroughly.

What basically is done is for a group or single individual to create a mass case of "Stockholm Syndrome" where the abused support and completely protect and identify with the opressor. Again, the information is easy to find.

It has been done again and again and yet the psychological design of most individuals is such that it is a situation to which even very brilliant people succumb if the din of misinformation goes on long enough. It is inbred into generations based on the political climate of the times in which people live and mature.

One of the largest components in making these kinds of techniques work are peddling fear first, hatred second and fourth is a delusional state of lack of recognition of the truth or facts where people never check or verify facts.

All in all FOX pedals fictionalized versions of news stories sensationalized in order to draw ratings away from other networks. There are others that do it on occasion, but for FOX it is a corporate policy. They can find a political aspect to blowing out the candles on a birthday cake.

After all, in a country where people who by their personal lives reflect the absolute dead opposite of the values they purportedly represent how can we lose. The fact that conservative Americans representing themselves as conservative embraced a former Alaska Governor who said one thing and had always done the dead opposite is an insult to intelligence. The fact that this same political candidate for the second highest office in the Country made lack of intelligence a high water mark defies description. Those sheep are evidenced repeatedly when conservative individuals intolerant of pre-marital sex worship a family deeply dysfunctional in it's advertised versus real values.

Beck is a grandstanding publicity seeking ham with the motive of personal gain for what he does. He likes money, Murdoch and Newscorp have it, he is not a leader or a moralist no matter what he says. He is just another individual motivated by greed and power chasing green.
