Yes ladies & gentlemen, it's that time again...for good ol' BD to take his young penis to the land of sexual debauchery.

It's my 3rd time there, but first time going alone. I will be there from Apr3-5 & have my own private room in a decent hostel 5 min from Centraal Station.

Any suggestions from past visitors on where to go/what to get myself involved in?

If someone gives me something to do (or someone ) that makes the trip unforgettable...I'd be inclined to purchase you a months gold membership.

There are outdoor urinals all over the city. It would be fun to use one after you've had a few beers and nature calls. I wish there was such a thing in the U.S.

NL is a lovely country, and Amsterdam a very cool city. My girlfriend and I venture over every few months for a dirty weekend. Kadinsky is our smoking cafe of choice. We normally sit in the front window smoking some Orange Blossom (my personal fav) and having a coffee before adventuring out into the city. If the weather is good, you have to have a smoke in Vondelpark and do some people watching

We're planning an April trip ourselves, if we over lap that weekend I'd be happy to catch you up for a smoke.

Smoking in cafés is no longer allowed since july 2008. No, not even in coffee shops. There just might be a café/coffee shop with a separate smoking room so you can smoke inside, but I think they are hard to find.

Thanks for your responses.

Have been twice before (short trips) & stayed just off the vondelpark. Am planning on turning up the heat as Im staying at The Greenhouse Effect hostel with a private room, supposedly 5min from the station. Looks to be within 1km radius of 15 or so 'coffeeshops' and right on the edge of the red light district

if anyones gonna be around, let me know!
