I'm 38 and in the last two years I've been monitoring my Testosterone level. Over the course of 6 tests, my Testosterone has averaged in the 400s (lowest was 235, highest 525). I've suffered from lack of restorative sleep, general lack of energy, few nocturnal erections, no morning erections for a few years ... just generally not feeling great. My Estradiol (E2) numbers are low too, around 10-14.

My doctor has decided to put me on Test Cyp, 100mg per week. Anyone had any experience and care to share what I'm in for? I'm already pretty hairy, so I'm not looking forward to more body hair, or the testicle shrinkage for that matter, so I'm going to ask him to use HCG too to maintain testicle activity.

I'm hoping this is the beginning of a better life of feeling good and having a strong libido instead of worrying about how fast I'll get hard ... but I realize there are also some downsides. Anyone care to share?

Rikter, you need to follow up on your desire for hypnotherapy, and while you're "under," have them give you a new personality. This thread is three months old and you still can't let go of your bitchiness. Go take a nap, dude.

Eisenhower...If you don't mind me asking how well do you like your Doc.? Does he live up to his reputation? What protocol does he have you on? Most importantly, how do you feel?

I am currently using testim gel daily just finshed up my first month. Within the first few days I noticed that I felt great, the cronic fatigue was gone. I highly recommend getting things checked if low t is suspected

Just as a point of note, I was listening to some doctors talk about this topic on a men's health radio talk show on satellite radio the other day. They spoke about a new product that just came out a little while back - a testosterone pellet that's inserted under the skin - sort of like the Norplant product for women. Anyway, it's turning out to be a very effective way to deliver the hormone, metering it out over a longer period of time. It only takes a few minutes to insert. The patients who have used it and other methods prefer it overwhelmingly. I wish I could remember the name, but you could probably search it out.

I've definitely heard some great anecdotes about how well T and HGH supplementation work if you can afford them, and if they are properly administered and monitored. Do your homework, though. Like everything else there are upsides, as well as potential downsides that can vary from the merely inconvenient to, over the long term - fatal.

I am on the Testopel and love it. I got 10 pellets the first time and they wore off in about four months. I got 12 pellets three months ago and hope to get 4-5 months out of 12. It beats the hell out of shots. The gels never worked for me.

Use the search function.
There are multiple threads on this already. - some of which you already commented on

So why start a new thread on the same topic??

Nothing wrong with starting a new thread - This is a major guy concern. On the news last week CBS did a thing on this topic and said almost 40% the male population could experiece low testosterone between 40 and 50. I am one of thoe who have thid problem amd on testosterone replacement.

As guys our cock is the center of everything and when testosterone amountsw begin to decrease we can have diffcult getting it up which will affect our self image and confidence in ourselves. However, there are other more serious side effects. You my want to read what is on this web site - Low Testosterone Symptoms

About 8 weeks ago my main MD outside the HMO looked at the labs and said "hell with it" and put me on male HRT. We started out with the cream because it is more even, but, it looks like we will be changing over to injectable because I am not getting the boost from the cream that I had from the injectable back in 2001. I will be doing a cycle of HCG about every 90 days to keep what's left working and we did discuss limited usage of HGH and I have had it before.

Body hair depends on genetics and threshold levels for your own follicles. In any case a great deal of hair growth in those that are relatively smooth takes some time it does not happen overnight. I have so much hair that if any more were added nobody would even notice.

I am a strong advocate of male HRT and there is now some evidence in studies coming from Denmark, Sweden and The Netherlands indicating that if everything is balanced well that prostate enlargement seems to not be a problem.

In my case I have testosterone in the bottom end of the normal range, very low free floating and even with my body hair my DHT levels are also quite low. I have elevated Estrogen and Prolactin levels. The only things we have discussed here that are really expensive are the HGH and the Prolactin killers. The rest of it is quite reasonable in reality.

With the cream the other thing that I did notice was that I can now as long as I do not place too much demand on things also use an oral ED med instead of the injectable. IT will not give me 100%, but an oral that formerly would not work at all now gives me enough for most sex activity without any other help. For that by the way I am on low dose Tadalafil (Cialis) daily and it works quite well in that manner. One gets a cumulative effect from the daily dosing and this improves it.

Good Luck,
If the testosterone is low get a decent MD (they're hard to find) to get you in HRT and it will open up a whole new world for you.

My experience has been that it makes little difference. My T was less than 100. The endocrineologist thought that was within normal range. My inturnist and urologist both disagreed. I am using a generic compounded gel much like Androgel but much cheaper and just as effective. In fact more effective than injections. Injections cause rollercoster effect. Any T you take will supress natural T and you will notice your testicles getting soft. The one positive effect according to my urologist is that it prevents osteoporosis and supresses BPH. However, it encourages prostate cancer in some cases. If it helps you go for it.
