Ok so Monday will be my first day at the gym. I'm going to start working out and trying to lose some weight. I am worried about a few things, because I am going with Co-Workers to the gym...

1) Pubic Hair
2) Shower Time

1- Should I shave or do what, i got a very hairy back and chest.. What should I do with that?

2- Shower Time, I know for a fact I will get a hardon while showering.. WHAT SHOULD I DO, SAY,?????

Anyones help would be great...

I'm a 22 year old male that is not in the best shape so I feel a little uncomfortable about this whole thing.. Anyone have any ideas?

My advice is to ignore your 2 questions. OK, OK, the hair, and what to do with it, is your choice. If you like it, keep it, but if you don't, lose it. Either way, there's SOMEone out there that will like whatever you've decided on, just as someone else will wish you'd done the opposite. Do what's most comfortable to you. Don't worry about the wood. If you need to hide it, turn inward in the shower, and use your towel(s) to obscure it when heading back to your locker.

What I quoted from your post, is the most important part. You're 22, and taking strides to take care of yourself. THAT is the only thing that matters. My advice, is to go, just GO, and keep going. Invest in yourself. Start seeing the changes that will make you more comfortable with, and even proud of, yourself. I'm not in overly poor shape, but I still feel intimidated, every time I go to the gym. You just have to push through it, knowing that you're on the right path. Good luck, and keep us posted on your progress.

Hey guy, just my opinion ...

1) What do you want to do with it? I'm sorta furry all over, and I just leave it alone. To hell with anyone who doesn't care for it. But, if you want to do something about it, that's your choice whether you are working out or not.

2) Cocks get hard. Make a mental image of yourself standing in the shower with other guys, and you have a boner. Then, just watch that picture of yourself from a distance, and just breathe. What are the other guys doing? What are you doing? Personally, I think it's a bonus if I see a guy get hardon.

I always used to get hard the first couple of times I showered in a new place. Then, it just quit. You just get used to it, and the charged situation gets more normal. Don't know if that helps, but i hope so.

PS -- congrats on taking better care of yourself. Don't let the body fur or the hard cock slow you down, if you know what I mean.

first, congrats on making the decision to improve your health...
second, there's no need to shave...unless that's what you truly want to do...
third, if u happen to get a hardon in the shower, just turn around...no big deal...as u know, dicks get hard all the time whenever they feel like it ...

He said it right. Don't worry about the hair...I am jealous sometimes because I imagine being kept warm if I had some!

About the "happy tool"...it happens just like everyone is saying so DONT WORRY about it. At times I take a wash cloth with me at least just incase I am not feeling up to showing myself off (hard or flaccid). Become comfortable with yourself now at your age and it will pay off tremendously later. Good Luck!!

If you like your hair, don't loose it, but if it bothers you a bit, trim it, don't shave, people will notice, not that that must be an issue, but if you don't like people to notice such things much: don't shave.

Second, if you are afraid for a boner, really try thinking about work or talk a bit, keep your mind distracted. Don't think about getting hard. If you get a semi or a boner, face yourself too a wall and wash yourself like nothing is happening and you don't care.

Just have fun sporting with the people from work :)

as a hairy guy, here's my 2 cents...

there are a number of ways to lose the hair if that's what you're going to do.

It's probably best not to lost it all, because it will look pretty obvious if you do in my opinion. If you want to just remove the back hair, I reccommend Nair. It can be a bit hard to reach your whole back. Make sure you protect the parts you don't want to remove hair from...

Once i naired my back and some got on my forearms. Needless to say it was long sleeves for me for a while.

also, the "Nair for men" is identical to the regular nair, it's just in a manlier package and costs more.

Nuh-uh. One key ingredient difference, is that the men's formula doesn't include "uric acid" (urine), which has an obviously lesser smell of ammonia. It's also available in more convenient dispensers. There's a wide roll-on, which is also MUCH stronger than the "traditional" formula (compare spreading it 1/4-1/2 inch coat, and leaving it on 10 minutes, to the thin layer of a roll-on that you only leave on for 4 minutes, which, trust me, starts burning QUICKLY). Also, even better, the men's formula is now available in a "spray paint"-like formula.

oh, see, i was talking about the cream formulas. I never used the roll on, or spray on, etc. As far as the creams go, it's basically the same. (At least I've used both and haven't noticed any difference.)

First of all your concerns may not be worth worrying about. Many guys who go to the gym never expose themselves. The come in, change into shorts while keeping their underwear on, work-out, and then leave with their gym clothes on. You should probably be prepared if your friends decide to shower.

I am at the gym 3-4 times a week. Many of the regulars are shavers because it helps to show off muscular definition. I am very hairy and don't do a thing with it. I am not there to put on a show and could care less what the shavers think. It itches like hell when it grows back. Trimming of pubic hair is fairly common. If you have a big wooly bush you may want to consider it but it's not necessary.

If they do decide to shower, don't be thinking about them or dick. Start a mental Christmas list or start a conversation about sports.

Like everyone else has said, congratulations. Stick with it.

my opinion is do what your comfortable with regarding the hair. if you like it, then keep it. so what if they like it or not its YOUR body not theirs. likewise, with the piece, its yours not theirs lol. so if you do get hard big deal.

if your shy of being naked in the gym then just do what someone said; dont shower their. go home in gym clothes and then wash.

also congrats.

Yeah, going to the gym is a good idea. Unless you're really lazy you'll soon like it. You feel so much better after a workout.

Everyone feels awkward at first, about being out of shape. The thing to realise is that everyone there is not entirely happy with their body either, duh, or they wouldn't be there!

You'll get used to the locker-room and showers pretty quickly too. Despite all the gym-sex threads here, in reality such stuff only happens at quiet times.

And keep the hair! In fact post pics please. Maybe progress pics on here would help keep you motivated?

First with the hair thing:

You're a man and some men are hairy. You're in a lockerroom which is is a non-sexual environment. Nudity does not equal sex. If you've got body hair then you do. No reason to be ashamed of it and you should know that a whole lot of men and women love hairy guys. Anyone has the temerity to make a comment just say you've gotten nothing but compliments, give a wry smile, and then leave it.

As to the hard-on thing, let me tell you. I started using gang showers at 14 in boarding school. There were no other showers in the school so if I wanted to bathe at all during the three months at a time I was away from home, then I had to use them. The first week was kinda scary. By the second week nobody gave two shits. Really. The anxiety passes quickly and it's even kind of fun to play around. I'm hung like a churchmouse. I really am. Even as a senior, I was still being outclassed by new freshmen. Even then I didn't think about it much.

I got hard, despite my raging hormones, just once. That's not to say that I never felt the stirrings of a hard-on. When I did, I'd turn the water temperature to cold. If I still felt something, I made it even colder. That shut down any hard-ons except once and even when I did pop that one boner, nobody said a damned thing so I just went about my showering, not hurrying nor taking any longer than usual. It wasn't nearly as big of a deal as I thought it would be.

Just remember, the cold tap is your friend. Use it if you have to and remember to stand under the spigot when you do so that your head feels the cold. That will cause your body to shut-down that hard-on really quickly.
