Worst president, worst administration, worst cabinet, worst secretary of education, all—worst of the worst. This stupid, foolish, arrogant, Christian zealot woman and the damage she has done might be the one time on this site that I might callously and justifiably use that one special expletive reserved only for fools like her, but I’ll do her one better and maintain a level of decency. She certainly didn’t “advance God’s kingdom”. She harmed it. Between Trump “being sent by God” and this (fill in the descriptor of choice) advancing his kingdom, God needs better representation.

And then there’s Pence and the religious right...

Batting zero. Christian in name only.

Sounds like a Randy Rainbow parody based on an Elton John song.
There is a Randy Rainbow song about Betsy “Cruella” DeVos, along with a video interview. I would include both here; but, unfortunately, there are brief images of those not allowed by the TOS, and we are—first and always—posters of honor and integrity.:D

Man you guys have a lot of hatred in your hearts. Do you hate her because she's wealthy? Because she didn't use government funds to travel? Do you hate her because she's a Christian? Or do your hate her simply because she was President Trump's pick?

You on the left have hated the last four years with a passion. I know you expect the same from those on the right. I for one will be happy to help give you on the left the same bullshit you dished out over the last four years.

Nope, she pushed horrible policies regarding Charter Schools and student loans( while owning companies that ran charter schools ) But I wouldn't expect you to know any of the policies pushed by the Trump Administration. You simply aren't informed to that level.

Lol
It's all an agenda against the liberal left.
What is wrong with charter schools? There are many failing public schools full of teachers who refuse to teach. They scream they need more money. But what they really need to do is teach students, not try to indoctrinate them.

Like I said, You simply aren't informed to that level. When you use words like "indoctrinate" regarding our public schools, you lose all credibility.

Judge Slams DeVos For Blanket Denials Of Student Loan Forgiveness, Cites “Irreparable Harm” To Borrowers
A federal judge issued a scathing rebuke to Education Secretary Betsy DeVos for issuing mass denials of student loan forgiveness applications.

“The Secretary’s new perfunctory denial notices... contradict her original justification for delay, raise substantial questions under [federal law], and may impose irreparable harm upon the class of student-loan borrowers,” Judge William Alsup, of the U.S. District Court in the Northern District of California, wrote in his decision yesterday.

The latest volley in Sweet v. DeVos concerns the troubled Borrower Defense to Repayment program. The Obama administration enacted regulations governing this loan forgiveness program in 2016 to provide student debt relief to students who were misled, defrauded, or otherwise harmed by predatory colleges and universities – often, for-profit schools.

Under Secretary DeVos, however, the Department of Education has been trying to rewrite the rules governing the Borrower Defense program. New regulations that went into effect on July 1 of this year substantially weakened the Borrower Defense relief provided to student loan borrowers by increasing the burden of proof required to prevail, and imposing a strict statute of limitations.

Betsy DeVos Ethics Report Reveals Ties to Student Debt Collection Firm
Public education advocates are demanding another hearing on Trump nominee for Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, after her dismal performance in front of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pension Committee (HELP) January 17th and after the late release of her ethics report on January 20th.

The report, available here, details some 102 companies that might pose a conflict of interest for DeVos and sheds new light on the nominee's investments and ethics.

While most Secretaries of Education have an extensive resume as school administrators or as educators, DeVos has neither. DeVos, an heiress, is married to the billionaire heir to the Amway fortune, Dick DeVos. Together they have spent millions advancing a radical school privatization agenda, including taxpayer vouchers for private and religious schools, and electing politicians across the nation willing to advance that agenda. DeVos was asked about her experience for the job by Democratic senators who were only allowed 5 minutes each.

The truth hurts doesn't it? Indoctrinate is exactly what they are doing. Don't try to deny it. We are not as closed minded as you think we are. Neither are our eyes closed.

Biden’s Education Department Will Move Fast to Reverse Betsy DeVos’s Policies
President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr. has presented an education agenda that is starkly different from the Trump era, beginning with a far more cautious approach to school reopenings.

......The contrasts in Trump-era education policy and the incoming Biden administration’s agenda are stark. Ms. DeVos, a lifelong booster of private schools and longtime opponent of the teachers’ unions, set out to reduce the Education Department’s footprint by proposing cuts to public school funding and narrowing the department’s enforcement role of federal education laws and civil rights.

The incoming first lady, Jill Biden, is a community college professor and member of the National Education Association, the nation’s largest teachers’ union. The Biden administration has promised to drastically increase resources for public schools, expand its civil rights advocacy for marginalized students and reassert the department’s leadership in policymaking......

......The Biden administration plans to restore Obama-era civil rights guidance — rescinded by Ms. DeVos — that offered transgender students the right to choose school bathrooms that correspond with their gender identity, that addressed the disproportionate disciplining of Black students and that pressed for diversity in colleges and K-12 classrooms. The restoration of those guidance documents can be done immediately because they were not put through the regulatory process or enacted into law.

Undoing what is arguably Ms. DeVos’s most formidable accomplishment — how federally funded schools should investigate cases of sexual assault — could be tougher. The incoming administration has vowed to dismantle those rules. As vice president, Mr. Biden had personally helped introduce the Obama-era guidelines on campus sexual misconduct that Ms. DeVos reversed through a formal and protracted rule-making.

What policy, rule, or”guidance “ put out by Devos and the DOE we’re you pleased with?

I'm from Michigan, I have legitimate reasons to hate how the DeVos family has tried to destroy public education for the last decade.

Her whole family is crooked, her husband tried and failed running for governor and her brother is Erik Prince the Blackwater mercenary.

Good riddance to all of them.

Do you really believe that teachers are refusing to teach? Year after year?

I am a retired teacher. Students come into the classroom and they are taught by the teacher. Some of them make an A on the test covering that lesson and the other lessons that week. Some not only make an A. They make a 100 on the test. These students failed the pretest given a week before. If a teacher can show evidence that some of the students learned the new skill because the teacher taught the skill, incompetence charges against the teacher are worthless.

If no students learn the objectives for the lesson, then it may be true that the teacher is incompetent. Certainly over time, we can draw that conclusion about a teacher.

As far as indoctrinating students, we teachers are guilty:

We do our best to indoctrinate students to:

Learn how to listen to the teacher
Learn how to follow directions
Learn how to do our best in school
Learn how to be proud to be an American
Learn how to study
Learn how to act responsibly
Learn how to tell the truth

Yes, guilty as charged. We teachers try to indoctrinate our students do the above and much more!
