How many times has Nathan Sproul started a company to "help" republicans that end in "Registration forms destroyed" head lines?

I guess you missed the nuance of the question. Voter registration is done by myriad factions and groups, fom Girl Scouts and Unions to downright criminals as profiled in the article, as hired by the RNC

Individual DOS managed the VOTER ROLES after registration.

I didn't miss anything sport, the Department of State handles voter registration for each state as part of their Constitutional duties. Some States hire outside firms in addition to the traditional process.

When someone unfamiliar with our (U.S.) registration process asks "Isn't voter registration done by a neutral government agency?" and you answer "no" without clarifying, you're wrong.

You can register with the state, but the people standing outside your grocery store with registration forms are not the same people. They work for particular politcal groups. By law they are suppose to file all the forms with the state, but companies Nathan Sproul has been in volved with (such as is the case here) has had a history stretching back over a decade of trashing even burning registration forms that were filled out by non-republicans.

When they are cuaght the RNC makes a public firing of the company then Sproul changes the company name and the RNC quietly hires them again.... wash, rinse, repeat...

In this story they caught a supervisor throw 8 forms in a dumpster. Those forms have since been filed, but how many did he trash before this? The only way to be sure your registration gets to the state is to do it yourself. Take sick day, google where the closest place to officially register is, and go. Otherwise it is entirely possible you will show up at the polls after standing around for 2-6 hours waiting only to hear "I'm sorry. You're not listed on the states voting rolls."

Sure it is, the Department of State for every State I have lived in has done mine.
Not in the case, like in Florida, or other Right Wing run states.
Wisconsin has a great why to register. Where most people go to vote, on the day of voting, you can register to vote. And then vote.

We've discussed this before though AM. Both you and I are of the opinion that our voting registration must never be handled by a third party. States have Departments which handle registration, all of them. Some of them also allow third parties to register voters within the framework of laws.

Unless you can point me towards a State which handles registration only through third parties, no Department or other government agency set up to register voters.

How serious a voter can you be if you register to vote at the grocery store. There are motor voter registrations, county clerks, State Secretary of States, numerous places. If some one cannot take the time to register they probably will not take the time on Election Day to vote. In 2008 they made a big deal of registering people homeless, people who had never voted. Getting them registered is one thing getting them vote is entirely different. Right wing or left wing all this registration argument is crap. If they cannot be bothered to put forth a little effort to register then they are not going to put any effort to actually vote.

Yes, we are of the same opinion. No third parties. Here in California, there was a large contingent of registrations done, in the name of the Republican Party. You had to be or wanted to be a Republican to register at these tables. If you were a Democrat, they would not allow you to register with them. Which I thought to be odd.

Every time there is some new revelation about the mishandling and outright sabotage of voter registration forms by GOP reps and affiliates (AND THESE ARE JUST THE ONES THAT WE KNOW OF), the Republicans offer some PRETENSE of being "shocked" or "dismayed" by the actions of their cronies. PHU-LEEEEESE.

They REALLY don't think we're buying that MALARKEY, do they??

When Ohio did a voter purge, that took thousands & thousands of valid voters off the voting rolls...Accorn stepped in and got those voters back onto the rolls. Then the Republicans in Congress took it upon themselves to destroy Accorn. As it turned out, the planned defunding of Accorn didn't hapen as the Republicans would have liked...Accorn disbanded due to lack of funds to continue. The Republican Party is antipatriotic, anti-American because they believe its perfectly ok to purge voters from the voting rolls, and to get rid of organizations who support voters rights and registrationand to adopt illegal requirements for voter IDs and the required payments of the same. The Republicans want a total Plutocracy. Just my opinion.
