In what CBS bills as a "softer side" of the GOP candidates, a few shed a tear or so at a recent religious forum in Iowa in recounting their own personal challenges, and to be sure we've all had a few:

The softer side of the GOP: Grown men cry - CBS News Video

Not to be outdone however, the "sonnavabitch" in them was none too far away, waiting in the wings as it were, especially when Newt had this to say about the Occupy Wallstreet movement: "Go get a job right after you take a bath."

Way to go Newt. Who says you don't have your finger on the pulse of America?

This particular "shindig"was sponsored by the Family Leader group, headed by Bob Vander Plaats. This from the link below:

"Vander Plaats and his group have claimed that homosexuality is a public health risk and suggested that children born into slavery were better off than those living in an America with Back Obama as president."

Kinda makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, doesn't it?

there is no softer side of the GOP. unless you are talking about their soft on corporate crime attitude. then their hearts melt like derivatives in the hot sun of public exposure. REELECT OBAMA in 2012 and just say NO to the Repugnantcan bullshit.

There is not a single viable candidate who doesn't support both the "war" on "terror" and the "war" on "drugs".

Ron Paul has as much of a chance as Ru Paul (and that's not an endorsement of him from me, either).

No, there isn't, which was exactly the point I was suggesting. While they shed a tear or two over their own personal challenges and tragedies they quickly turn a blind eye and cold shoulder to issues that are of concern to many.

To suggest that the Occupy Wall Street movement is that of a few disenfranchised individuals without jobs and in need of baths show, imo, a pompous-assed shit-faced understanding of the realities that fuel the cause.

That a relatively small number of people actually take place in the demonstrations and sit ins should not be mistakenly construed to mean that the sentiments of many (if not most) and not in support of them.
