As much as I dislike Big Pharma, I owe the fact that I'm still alive to the medications I take everyday, all approved by the FDA.

The next few generations of treatments for HIV are in the pipeline right now, being tested by pharmaceuticals and eventual approval by the FDA. They give hope to millions.

Would you say that Small Pox vaccines are also hype? Would you have been against it when it first came out? Probably. But i dont let what you think dictate my own health.

You must be at h1n1 ground zero then, because only 1000 people have been "confirmed"* dead from swine flu in the US, that only affords 20 per state, or 1 per 350,000, so the chances of a couple of people dying in your "town" is pretty low.

It's cool. Just remember this as every 3 years, you inject your child twice for flu, and then around 2020, you start giving her 2 injections every year, and then, in 2035, you are encouraging her to get 3 vaccinations every year for whatever hype Bayer is pumping that year.

And then when she gets some autoimmune disorder, just blame it on bad luck.

I am willing to guess that you have no idea what the FDA found in the nic-free cigarettes. This is just paranoid ravings.

Yes, we have seen plenty of manipulation of government regulatory agencies in the past. The problem is that you can't just throw out everything they do because you have no other process for testing the safety. The most suspect is anyone who publishes their findings only in the popular press. You can guarantee that is compromised, and if it is not, you have no way of knowing.

However, when a professional organization publishes something like this, you have a chance that this work will be either corroborated or refuted by another professional organization. Whereas, someone's youtube video is not held to the same standards.

That raises the absolute mortality rate and seriously taxes our health care infrastructure. It also might start to affect other infrastructures as too many people people and their backup people are out of work.

Bullshit bullshit bullshit. It's no more contagious than regular flu. And thats not what they are peddling... they are saying it especially effects pregnant women and children... more bullshit. No real proof, the few pregnant women (yes, FEW) that have died had complications already.

CDC is not even testing deaths for swine flu, so we dont have the real numbers. Again, read the article I posted, and argue with that, and stop making up shit.

It's obvious to those of us impervious to the media hype machine, that this is classic media hype. It was an easy call long ago. Those of you that watch too much fucking TV probably cant figure it out, but for the rest of us, this is clear as day.

More & more it seems as if people don't know the difference between "prevention" and "elimination". The flu vaccine does its job like it's supposed to. It's not a means to eliminate the virus, but it does aid to better prevention. This arguing over whether or not it's a hoax is ridiculous.

You wanna better your chances of either not getting the virus or at least making the symptoms less severe if you do contract it? Then by all means, get the shot. If you'd rather roll the dice with your health and hope that you don't get sick all for the sake of saving money or because of your excessive need to not trust the government, then don't get it. At the end of the day, it's $25... is it really worth getting all worked up over a procedure with a financial expense that is equivalent to a night at the movies? If the government was as evil as some of you think it is, do you think they'd propose a scheme that would only target you for this measly amount?

Its not a small amount when it is sold at 159,000,000 units, much of it at taxpayer expense.

None of you are reading the Atlantic article, and those "studies" posted had sample groups as big as 70 people. And the flu is often contagious for a week after it is contracted. those stories are tiny, and have a lot of "mays" and "maybes" in them. BULLSHIT HYPE!

So if any of you want to actually talk about the Atlantic artcile, be my guest, until then, keep talking to yourself.

And how do we know that? How can we possibly know the effects of accumulated vaccinations? How can we possibly know the long term effects and side effects of mass vaccinations and pill popping and antibiotics and pain killers and meth and anti depressants?

We can know because epidemiology is a science.

Death rate is death rate.

MORE people die of the diseases you get vaccinated against than die of all your "suspected and yet Unproven" long term effects.

By definition, if you DID NOT DIE at 12 of diphtheria, and so lived to be a 68 year old person afflicted with arthritis... even if you suspect that the vaccination may have contributed to the arthritis, you still got to live to be 68. And the arthritis, itself, isn't going to kill you.

It is so easy for people living in the modern world to entirely forget what Nature is REALLY like...
To Forget that people live longer, healthier lives, TODAY, than at any time in human history.

This is the result of REAL science and real statistics and public health measures... from chlorinating water, to fortifying and pasteurizing milk, to vaccination against disease.

Hysteria over Imagined long term effects is bullshit.

The influenza epidemic of 1919 killed 20 million worldwide. several times MORE dead than were killed in all of WWI.

Just as we have our ARMY practice deployment so they can be ready in time of unforeseen attack... we have our Government PRACTICE at rapid response to influenza epidemics....
Because we do not KNOW when the next smallpox of spanish flu will come thru our population like a scythe.
