I'm watching that new show, "Kevin Can Fuck Himself". The premise is that this woman is stuck in a shitty marriage to a guy who's like a sitcom husband. The show has an interesting gimmick where the scenes with the husband are shot like a bright, happy sitcom complete with a laugh track, but when the husband isn't around the style of the show changes to dark and dreary drama. It's a neat gimmick and story telling tool. Unfortunately, I don't think the writing is up to par.

Spoilers ahead.

After learning that her husband has been wasting their money on sports memorabilia, she decides to kill him. This is an interesting idea, but they never really do enough to establish Kevin as someone who deserves to die. Kevin is crude, annoying and a total loser but not bad enough to kill. Divorce? Definitely. Kill? No. I'm hoping that the show drops the whole murder plot line or at least does something more interesting with it.

Anyone else watching this show? What do you think of it?

Also, do you have any other examples of shows with a good premise, but poor execution?
