thingsteal: Road House - it is laughably bad, but from what I understand everybody involved knew it was going to be bad and just played it up.

The best part is when that guy is beating up Patrick Swayze and pauses to say, "I used to fuck guys like you in prison." Cracks me up every time.

Well, it is the only movie where you're supposed to talk during it. Fuck the bird!

Here are some more from my VHS vault:

Catch 22
Charly
The Day the Earth Stood Still
Dead Man
Donnie Darko
Drowning Mona

I have taped nearly 1000 movies on VHS over the years. Many are mainstream (so the family can enjoy them with me) but many are Independents: Oddball, Cult and Foreign films that tickle my strange sense of humor.

I've been to audience-participation showings of Clue! as well. (Coincidentally, also a Tim Curry movie!)

It's a natural for the Rocky-Horror-style sendup -- obvious costumes (Mrs. Peacock is a riot!) if you want to dress for the part. Lots of bad puns and word-play. Plenty of innuendo among the characters -- the letch, the madam, the homosexual-who's-going-home-to-sleep-with-his-wife.

Audience-participation Clue! doesn't have as wide a following as RHPS, of course, but it's starting to catch on.

I'm pretty sure the MST3K movie had audience participation too. (They basically do the same thing to various B movies. Crap like Hobgoblins, Prince of Space, and The Incredibly Strange Creatures who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-up Zombies.)

fullcd: I saw one of my favs, Toxic Avenger listed earlier but didn't see ReAnimator listed anywhere... I loved that movie.

Toxic Avenger who doesn't love a Janitor hero?
ReAnimator who doesn't love a mad scientist?

Been trying to find Dawn of the Dead to rent or buy online but no luck. My local video store doesn't have it. Anyone know a good spot to find it online? I know they got a new one coming out

Thanks

ALL John Waters movies. Anyone remember the scene in John Waters's Multiple Maniacs where Divine gets raped by a 20 ft. lobster and his wig almost falls off? They just don't make 'em like that any more ... and with good reason!

If we're talking about really strange movies, we can't forget Liquid Sky, try as we might!

dfox7.3x5: Yeah, Eating Raoul and Fargo are classics. My f--- buddy hates Fargo, but he can't tell me why. One of my employees is a nice young guy from North Dakota, and he sounds like some of the characters in Fargo. But he doesn't get it, either. So Peckler and I are "special," I guess...
