Another fact I found while looking for some answers was that while the Olympians perfromed nude it was thought rude if the head of their penis was uncovered.

More than once I have asked guys to cover their dickheads. Nothing is more rude than showing glands.

I think they were less offended by the glans penis, and they certainly venerated the penis, large and small, so much so they festooned their houses, towns and cities with images, effigies and sculptures of them.
