My goatee and mustache turned white in my late 30’s and the salt on my head was winning the race. It made me appear much older than I was so I started coloring both. I let a cosmetologist take care of my head but use Just for Men on my beard. I’ve found that Cremo (great shaving cream) also makes a dye. I use it on my pubes as it is more gentle than Just for Men, but doesn’t seem to work as well on my beard.
As the years have gone by I use a much lighter color and it’s a natural looking salt and pepper as opposed to completely white.
Each guy should do what makes him feel good when he looks in the mirror. I recently went through a six month span of surgeries and let things go natural. I was stunned at how white everything got. For now I’ll take the time to color but I’m sure the day will come when no color is a better fit.

Most of the time I'm clean shaven, but every few years I'll grow out a goatee (I dislike the feel of a full beard) for a few months before going back. A few years back during one of the outgrowth periods I noticed grey strands that were likely in my head hair for awhile as well but I never noticed since I keep it very short. While I debated about continuing to let it keep growing since it made my feel old, but I decided...fuck it...it was what it was.

Currently I have let it grow back out again and it is now close to 50/50 salt & pepper, but I've come to terms with middle age in many ways, which includes obvious outward signs like changing hair color. When I decide I no longer like it (and eventually I will) I will shave it for reasons other than the grey. I would never consider dying it. I do think it adds a sort of distinction to older men and they should accept and embrace it rather than fear or hide it. For the record I feel the same way about women as I find one with grey hair very sexy though it's taken some persuasion to convince my wife of this.

if it is trimmed and in good shape a beard looks good no matter if grey or not. It only looks bad when it´s not taken care of

I had a beard for many years, but was alarmed when I saw gray ones coming in pretty fast, too early! Didn't want them at all. Probably something to do with my first job being in a nursing home and seeing how many younger people see anyone with gray hair as childlike and pathetic: it always disgusted me. So I shaved off the beard, and color my hair to keep the gray away. I will eventually have to give in and be "old" at some point.....not there yet......

I find grey in a beard pretty hot. But white chest hairs bother me.
I'm fine with the few hairs in my goatee and mustache that have gone white but I hope I don't find any lower ones.
