Ok we are looking for people that are
And idk if you’re POC
and I didn’t come on here for paid employees of the app to say they haven’t experienced anything

You asked for experiences, I've given my own. I'm sorry you feel the need to dismiss my experiences and imply I'm an employee of Grindr.

Have a good day.

If you're using social media for your love life and emotional stability; you're literally setting yourself up to get fucked.

The internet has made some things easier, but it's also made people more socially detached and prone to be fucking first class assholes.

So people who don’t share your experience are paid lol!

^Not to stir away from the main issue but black men are picked more on dating/sex apps than Asian men. There are actually studies on that. Just putting it out there.
What gay man is looking to grindr for dates and a relationship? The majority are looking for sex or, as a some may call it, "friends". Black men are solely fetishized much more than Asian men, therefore picked up more. Especially the extremely masculine and light skinned ones. Many are used to fulfill fantasies and roles that much of society has helped push. It depends on the person, but the cringingly normal use of "BBC" is the perfect example. Craving for it is in no way normal. It's even being used in BLM protests. You either like big cock, don't like big cock, or could care less about the size. Uncut or cut. Shaved or hairy. Those are typically the harmless preferences, but if you are specifically looking for it to be black, it's nothing but a racist fetish.

Using Black as a description is used a lot more in porn as well, and the amount "thug", outside of actual gang scenarios, gets used as a synonym just for a black man is ridiculous. Some men go on these apps just with that same intent of being used by someone more "aggressive"... Some don't even have a reach of black men that fit their bill within their own social circles. For them, black skin is a step closer to the quality of aggressive, ruthless dominance they are craving, whether the person they are hooking up with actually possess that quality or not. It's kind of like some people and their impressions of tattoos on people, except racist! As we've been seeing more of lately, many dudes (mainly white) have proven that they view black men as nothing more than a means of getting off. If their "preferences" haven't eliminated black folks completely, many are holding them back to a strictly sexual position. If you don't find an entire race of people attractive, especially on a romantic/intimate level, that is racism you have inherited. We are taught what beauty and attraction is, plain and symbol, which is why many people's "preferences" coincide with Eurocentric standards and the hierarchy racism and cultures have created. If it is cultural relatability/connection you are worried or "turned off" by, then grow TF up. They're in the same country as you after all. Get over yourself. That has nothing to do with getting to know who a person actually is or even fucking them. You are doing nothing but assuming and discriminating based off their race, and rarely because you see that culture in a positive light as well. That is why your race "preferences" are racist.

Since it's on point with the subject, here's a fun little #FlashbackFriday from Dombeljung.

Again, not white.

it’s pretty shitty of you to invalidate the experiences and voices of other POC who don’t share your views and experiences.

People of color are celebrities and models

model and celebrity portion of this thread forum is the most popping
And people have forums of people really not famous go comment on their forum

Just an aside but using gifs to punctuate your (non) answers just makes you look queeny and childish. You must be between about 18-23 lol

It IS a dating app, that men use to hookup on. Tinder is also a dating app, mostly use for straight hookups though
There is a vast difference between a "date" and a "hook-up."

I think the reason why I have all of these white men correcting me on my own personal experiences is because they know that they are part of the problem. The LGBTQ+ community is a very racist and colorist community. This thread was mean for POC experiences, not whether or not grindr is a dating app or a hookup app. Go back to listening to gaga snorting ur poppers and let me share my personal experiences and hope for constructive discussions on this thread.
He’s not correcting you on your experience as a person of color. He isn’t correcting you at all actually. He’s stating a fact that grinder is used for hook ups and not dating. There are people who end up dating off of it, but more times than not it started with a hookup. I have tried using it to make friends to no avail. I stopped dating and having sex 20 years ago, so I don’t want hookups. I have personally found that even those on there “looking for chat/friends” can’t be bothered when you actually try to chat and only chat if it doesn’t end in sex. I’m sorry for your experiences with racism on there, but unfortunately as far as it seems we’ve come, we still have so much further to go.

Grindr was one of the first mainstream dating apps and I do believe that their core demographic has always been geared toward a Caucasian demographic. Over the years a lot of new apps have come onto the scene that cater to other demographics. If you are a black man that is actively seeking unions with caucasian men then you are likely to be on apps that cater to those men but you have to be prepared for the downside of that. There are those that can look past color and there are those that can't and will let it be known. In my opinion Jack'd seems to be more popular with black men who are looking for other black men. Jack'd is actually pretty diverse. I was once on Grindr and my experience as a black man was different. I was actually approached by mostly Caucasian men, even guys that had in their profile "no blacks" would somehow make an exception and it was disturbing. You'd be surprised at how quickly someone can forget what they put in their profile and their tastes in men change about who they want to hookup with. I didn't stay on Grindr too long because I had a sneaking suspicion that the men hitting me up were only interested in fulfilling a sexual fetish which is not something I was interested in. Unfortunately there are black men that are okay with being a fetish and will go on platforms like Grindr and overlook the racism that they may encounter or see in profiles. If you've ever come across black men that are seeking money it's usually because of this. The demand for "BBC" is ridiculous and there are those well endowed black men who have adopted the mentality that if they are going to be used as a fetish then they are charging. Don't think that these men are not being paid either because I know guys that do this and their inboxes are always filled with men asking their rates. Below is a link to an article that might be of interest to some people where Jack'd called Grindr out for the rampant racist profiles that were allowed to be on their platform.

Jack’d Attacks Grindr for Racist Profiles

If you’re advocating awareness, then shouldn’t a group you’re mostly giving awareness to also white people? Considering they’re the group that would be most privileged in this case, and therefore, their inputs be advocated so as to educate (or indoctrinate, strictly speaking) these people?

If this is just about stories of discriminatory instances on Grindr, and in your particular case, strictly just black people, then I suppose go off? You just don’t seem to be really open to discussion and just want to be shouting with your loud voice. And when you shout, people hear, but that’s not how people listen. Gotta tone it down a bit.

If you don’t get the thread and are not of color please log off or share how you being discriminated against is in comparison to people of color constant oppression .
I’ll wait

So you're just gonna stick with what you previously said with no logical refutes to anything I said with your sassy gay ass gifs? lol, enjoy failing to make any lasting differences for anyone with this thread with that attitude.

Sweetie,

A few receipts (screenshots of racist actions on Grindr) related to your topic will help keep the conversation moving forward and prevent people from using shade, sarcasm to diminish your point.
