Tintin, is there a point to this thread, or is it simply some passive-aggressively anti-American masturbation (much akin to your other thread)?

I had a discussion on another forum, the Americans said that USA was the richest, greatest most powerful nation in the world! I just hoped for a discussion like that here. But it seemes to me that the majorety of americans here are normal minded people. We see in the news here that some americans is afraid of all things middle eastern and muslims.
We see people threatning to burn the muslim couran and seeing possible terrorists everywhere. But I guess thats what the media focuses on... After 9/11 you seem more paranoid to us. I love america, drive and old Camino and my brother has a 397 Pete. My dream is to drive all of route 66 in an old 57 chevy bel air. Experience small town USA not the typical tourist things like disneyworld and the skyscrapers.

Well, if that's true, you should have started off the thread with a post like this, as opposed to the "suck it, America" tone of your first post.

I woulda guessed Freedonia. Or were they overtaken by Sylvania?

Hail, hail Freedonia!

If any form of pleasure is exhibited
Report to me and it will be prohibited
I'll put my foot down, so shall it be
This is the land of the free

The last man nearly ruined this place
He didn't know what to do with it
If you think this country's bad off now,
Just wait 'til I get through with it

The country's taxes must be fixed
And I know what to do with it
If you think you're paying too much now
Just wait till I get through with it
.

I would have thought the Norgie's would be no.1, since they have a lot of oil, and not many people... What do they make, or is it shelter in Luxembourg? Is Monaco really so awful now? Europe is not a country, it's a region. Wonder where North America would rate in that regard?

What do Ireland and Haiti have in common, other than Catholicism?

I think Bhutan has us all beat. Tibet might have, but China's likes their minerals too much, and their religion not enough to let them go, unlike Mongolia, the other Buddhist state.

TinTin, ignore the national news, it's a case of the >1% wanting 99% of the attention, but do come over and drive Route 66. It's a gas. No need to bring your own.

Based upon exchange rates, I wonder where your money buys you the highest quality, least stressful life, if you are not Buddhist? If you are Buddhist, can you be the happy where ever you are? If so, is this a suitable replacement to nationalism, or have we merely replaced one religion with another? Maybe then we'd be asking which religion has the wealthiest practitioners?
